Primo works just fine, but quite often, reports that GPS has been turned off. After about 10 sec, it will turn GPS on again, and continue navigating.
On the same device, iGO8, TT and Garmin work just fine, no problems (meaning that this is not a hardware, or RadioROM issue)

My SYS.txt contains:

[gps]
port=4
baud=38400

What could be the problem ?
Thank you!

Nextasy wrote:Ok. you guys, mine is now working with the content folder moved to the root of my sd card for Primo and Igo8 to share!!!
All i have in my sys.txt are:

PRIMO;

[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/Primo"
content="%SDCARD%/content"

IGO8;

[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/IGO83"
content="%SDCARD%/content"

NOTE: Had to change Igo8 folder name to Igo83 like somebody here suggested. You can change it to anything but Igo8 otherwise it might crash!!!
Most skin will lost on igo8 if you move the content out. Here is my working setup without such issue so far on my SE Xperia X1:

;IGO8;
[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/iGO83"

;PRIMO;
[device]
type="ALIAS_XPERIA"

[Interface]
resolution_dir="400_240"
screen_x=800
screen_y=480

[Rawdisplay]
HighRes=1
screen_x=800
screen_y=480
class="landscape"

[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/iGoP"
content="%SDCARD%/igo83/content"

Both TMC and TTS are working with the same files and config from old igo8 (with the following in save/system.ini)

[tmc]
saved_config_available="1"
saved_config_classname="NMEA_GPSTMC_ROYALTEK"
saved_config_portname="COM"
saved_config_port="9"
saved_config_baud="9600"
saved_last_tuning_mode="1"
auto_tuning="1"
saved_last_frequency="923"

Following files can be copy from old igo8's "save" directory too (too bad user POI and contacts poi is not working)
1. history.sav (search history)
2. CCTMC.dat (TMC subscription data if you have one)

Thanks vitragibb for this nice bit of GPS software.
I already had IGO and Amigo and this is, as has been noted, a hybrid of the two...but much closer to Amigo.

All I had to do was transfer my map from IGO and add :-
[GPS]
port=1
baud=4800
to my sys.txt and it works like a dream on my generic Chinese 5" device.

Just about the easiest one I have ever downloaded and I have got just about every GPS system on SD cards now.....and some were very difficult to crack.
Many thanks. 8)

I found a problem. It works fine with 3D buildings display, but it crashed every time it is going to display a landmark.

I found a problem. It works fine with 3D buildings display, but it crashed every time it is going to display a landmark. The buildings are just blocks, the landmarks have textures. Not sure if that is related to memory problem. After turning off 3D landmarks, it runs smoothly. For 3D buildings, you'll need the 3dc files. 3dl is for landmarks.

NEW data.zip tweaks for 400x240 resolution. Will be OK for any 800x480 device. I'm using this on my HTC HD.Just replace the data.zip you have.

Changes made:
* Reality/real view now OK.This took ages to do.......See pic.
* Next street size and transparency added for day night screen.
* Speed limit/ roundabout icon adjusted.
* Speedcam icon adjusted. Speedcam limit still only shows in kMH. This requires a fair bit of formula and I don't have time at present.
* Speedcam warning audio added, but you must use sys.txt settings.

Thanks Kitzie, i own an Omnia i900 (400x240 res) so i will try your latest data.zip.
Do you know if the igo8 speedcam files are compatible with Primo?
I put the speedcam file in the Primo folder (speedcam) but on the road test i have no warning or visual messages.

bye

alex_navigator,

I think you'll find that speedcam.ui file will not be compatible.
Although iGO8 & primo have files similarities, a fair bit of file editing is needed.
However, if you should be able to substitute speedwarn.bmps OK.

dxdy,

my modest tweaks have been made on 400x240 data.zip released earlier.
"not working linking to GPS info when click on "Looking for GPS signal..." may have something to do with transparency. I'll look into it.

What aspects of speedcam are you referring to; .bmps or folder structure?
