Hy from Croatia!
If anyone know how to solve my problem with iGO i will be very thankful! When I install iGO june 18 release on microSD card and try to open got hardware id error. Evidently it is a sdhc card problem. I have 8gb microSD card in my HTC P3300. I spend 7 hours doing all I can - install two patches (iGO.exe) from first post Update 4. and 5. but didnt help. Even try with deleting application.dat and then open iGO.exe but also failed. Do someone have a solution? I am hopeless...-(

Hi,
I have the following configuration HP iPaq 4150 and Hevis BT GPS model FGPSSBT02. Everything is working absolutely perfect with iGo 2006. As I need speedcameras, I installed 2006 plus, smooth install version.
And from this moment...a huge problem appeared.
GPS is disconnecting from time to time and "Bluetooth console" windows appear asking me to select the GPS. I have found an workaround on a Tomtom forum, from a user using iPaq: put BtBrowserEnabled=0 under com port config in registry. So far so good, at least it doesn’t ask me to click on "Bluetooth console" window every few minutes.
But, after several months of using it I manage to isolate the problem: when GPS signal is low or some electrical lines are nearby, GPS is showing disconnected on iGo 2006 plus. It reconnects, by himself, few seconds after I leave the area.
But it is VERY ANNOYING: one times I was in a big intersection and one trolley was next to me. And GPS disconnect! Obvious! My help was tunnel mode of plus version that is showing me the exit.

I have to insist: iGo 2006 doesn't have this problem. In the same hw config!
I have used, for a while, a Holux GPS, and the same behavior! Absolutely identical!

I have brought iGo 2006, with license and, after upgrade to plus, the same problem.

Does anybody have this issue? Is there a fix?

Thanks

Not the best solution, but you should first consider to try a non sdhc microSD card to run iGO (i.e. a 2gb). If it works then of course you have to change your SD cards every time during the normal operation of your HTC P3300. :(

Of course it's true but I thought, the sdhc iGO patch was a special solution for Asus PDAs:

Is here a czech friend to translate this post:
pawo99 wrote:Final solution for Asus A 696 from good typek from Czech Republic:

Sorry it is in Czech language.Slovak people understand ;-)
Someone can translate it for others?my english is not very good..

Verze iGo z 18.6.2007.

something special that you need is in this archive:

in english?

in english?
Only process: (text before isn't important)
1)On SD Card, where you have Igo find file data.zip, open it, inside is folder "config" and inside this folder is file "pocket_pc.ini". This file you must delete.

2)Download from rapidshare modified file "pocket_pc.ini" and put it on the same place as the deleted file

3)Instal patch into your A696 (PDA make restart - don't scare :) )

4)Instal iGo

Srry my english is bad too :)

Let me explain more.
Practical description:
You must use Aug13 release, if you could be able to rename the file \windows\sdmemory.dll

Detailed description:
You must have a ROM based sdmemory.dll driver file. If you installed a SD-reading driver software what-ever reason, then iGO won't work. iGO really checks if sdmemory.dll is in the rom or not. Problem is not related the driver itself but the location of the driver. If you installed a SDHC driver you can rename it. If it is in the ROm, then you can't rename. This explains practictical test. If you have SDHC driver in the ROM, you don't need 13 Aug 2007 patch, then you must search for other reasons, for example faulty SDHC card, or faulty driver.

@vagus

Thank you for your summery.

So I understand you correctly, your hints are valid not only for ASUS PDAs, but also for other wm6 or SDHC installed wm5 devices ?

Ok Vagus thank you for your post. You wrote "If you installed a SDHC driver you can rename it. If it is in the ROm, then you can't rename. This explains practictical test. Let me explain my situation.. My SDHC driver is not in the ROM I install it separately after flashing WM6. And my SDHC card is working perfect.
So,
1. how can I rename SDHC driver to make iGO work?
2. do I need your patch?
3. Can 18 june release iGO work for me?

If you are sure you installed driver, you need Aug13 fix (After installing June18 release).
If you are sure, don't rename the file. Rename is only for testing purposes.

use sktools to read your microSD card's SECID. If it is empty or very short, iGO doesn't like it.
Look at picture:
Image
it is 143283d05a

or find and use kazimirka's card_id.exe to read SECID.

I install a SDHC support patch for HTC Artemis from XDA-developers. So where to put your patch-in the iGO folder on the microSD or somewhere else? Maybe I put in wrong folder.. :?
And yes HTC P3300 has a QVGA screen but I realy want to try iGO.

1- iGO.exe is usually installed to \Program Files\iGO 2006 folder
you need to replace it with Aug13 release
2- MioMap V3.3 PDA is newer than iGO 2006 Plus, and already copes with to SDHC drivers
