The version here is cracked (we will know for sure in about a week when the demo times out) so I see no reason to try. Looks like they are just mirrors of what we have here (maybe a bit more of the same). The version of iGO 8 they showed at CES recently looks exactly like what we have here. If there is a final release, the GUI will probably be similar (too bad because some of the menus are a maze). I just hope they fix the way it works when you touch and drag the map to a new spot. I also hope they fill in the building files and make a higher resolution DEM. Only 3-5 buildings in all of San Francisco, and hills show up as fuzzy green fields. Land contours at driving scale seem smoother over and unrealistic (For truly 3D maps we are going to need a lot more than a 400MHz ARM processor common in todays PNAs). The Maps and POIs seem about the same as previous versions but it is puzzling how they seperated the POI and maps when they previously always were merged. Overall I like the UI and the 3D improvements. Definately a step in the right direction. .
Knowing how TeleAtlas (via partner companies like i-Go) sells different map (POI) sizes for different cost PNAs, I expect to also see this happen to the resolution of the DEM and Building files. By the website, it seems iGo does treat their paying customers well with map updates.
Marius2000, Oh, on a PC. I am not sure but even if you can seperate the data and send it to the software, you will still need an activation code from the TMS service provider. The TMS data is encrypted and cracking the program might not work, the S/W needs the key to decrypt the data. A keygen might work but thats beyond my technical knowledge to say for sure. If your usb radio can send digital data from the subcarrier to another serial port, I might think so.
