How do i get the building to show up? I've the folder "building" with the file "USA_California.3dl" under "\Storage Card\iGO8\content\building" and the 3D turned on but nothing shows up when i'm downtown?
Same question regarding the .dem file, i 've have "NA_usa.dem" inside "\Storage Card\iGO8\content\dem" but i don't get the 3D terrain.
Also, how to unzip and re-zip the data file? when i do so, i end up with a 24MB file instead of 12MB.

I am having the same exact problem as you, so unfortunately I can't answer the 3D, building etc question.

I can however tell you how to zip/unzip data file.

Open your iGo8 folder on your pc. There you will find the data.zip file.
Assuming you have winzip, winrar etc, you should simply have to double click on the data.zip file. Then you will select extract to what location you want it.
You can then make the changes you want, and right click on the files which you want included in data.zip.
It will bring up a menu, select add to archive, name the archive, and that's it. You can then copy paste the new data.zip to your iGo8 folder on your ppc.

I hope someone can help us figure out the 3D and building questions but regarding the data.zip question, i'm usind winrar but even when i select "best" as the compression method, my problem is that the new data.zip file is 24MB so twice the size of the original file (12MB), is this normal?

i had the same problem with the buildings in cali not showing up, so i put the .3dl and map files for nevada and see if the buildings showed up on the las vegas strip since in the demo video they had 3d buildings. and the buildings did show up, but they were all gray since i guess i'm missing the 3d buidling (.3dc) texture file, but the las vegas hotels did show up all grey. so i just guessin in cali, the buildings are there, but we just dont know where they are to see them. that's my take on the missing buildings in cali, try it out for las vegas, use address 3227 las vegas blvd S, las vegas, nevada, and you'll see the hotels.

Trust me, I have GPS signal in my house and today I was driving 150km with igo8 But NO speedcams
Can u pls upload somewhere the content of your speedcam folder? I have Germany map installed so I can check some of them.

Another funny thing is related to a small "envelope" icon that I get instead of TMC symbol during driving... what does it mean?

Problem was: my speedcams.txt file had "nulls" like ,, and instead of this I put ,0,
I also used the attached app to convert the txt file into SpeedcamUpdates.spud ( http://uploaded.to/?id=kn2i1p ) but I think it works also without.

Glad it worked. I'm using the Export2iGO software to convert asc to igo txt files.
