Does anyone know how to stop "Route recalculation" from being said? (my device usually stutters when it says this and it is very annoying...)..... I had once found this somewhere and had made the change to my sys.txt file, but then lost the file and didn't have a backup, and now I can't find it any more...

Perhaps it was this entry in sys.txt

recalc_voice=0

Try it out, no guarantee. Worked with iGO2006, not sure if that also applies to iGO8.

Has anyone got this version to work on an 8GB microsd card?
I can't get it past the "initializing" phase - it hangs.

Noone has the ts 8600 pnd to tell me if he has managed to install a newer version in it? Someone to help me? The os is in the gps and the folder content with the building and everything is in the sd card.

trying to get Sept 1 version of igo8 working on a Samsung Epix (us version of Samsung i780)...when i start the igo8.exe, the loading screen starts and when "LANGUAGES" appears in the bottom right corner, igo8 freezes. i have languages in the content/lang folder and i'm not using the TTS feature/files. my sys.txt reads as follows:

HI I have a Binatone Carrera X430. REs 480_272 Need to load iGO8 onto sd card. Unit will not connect to pc via USB constantly clicks but will not register on computer. Have no idea how the sys file should be set as all must be done on External SD card.

Got machine running now it works for a minute or so then tells me it is out of memory and ceases to work.
Suggestion needed.

Hey, running v8.0.0.54000 on iPaq 111 (WM6.0) using a Bluetooth GPS receiver. Runs good except (unlike both TomTom and Sygic Drive) I must manually activate the Bluetooth (power) though it does negotiate the link after I modd'ed the device .INI file in data.zip. Does anyone know a setting I can make somewhere so iGo will toggle the BT power on/off on it's own?

Also, can someone steer me to a recent vintage Mexico map? Found a few dead rapidshare links! The only one I've found is "Mexico_2007.07_070815.fbl" and for whatever reason it doesn't work.

Help with either/both of the above would be much appreciated! Been trolling forums forever it seems...

I edited the setting_480_272.ui file to be able to set the vehicle as "TRUCK", but when I select it, the route does not change from "CAR" and I know there is a route in the itinerary that does not allow TRUCKS.
Does anybody noticed this problem, or is just the route I'm using?

I tried the same route in a garmin device and the route does change.

Any help will be appreciated.

If you run iGO only from internal memory then try this.

Edit the sys.txt file and remove this entry:

[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"

Thats what is has in the SYS file in the IGO directory on my SD card. Should i copy this somewhere else????

Verify that there are NOT other folders on SD Card named Igo8 or Miomap.
