Data.zip from post #1023 cures the "recalculation near destination" problem (tested 240x320 & 320x240).
Tomorrow I will try JM's data.zip, which I'm sure will work :-)
Thanks JM, I know it was hard work as I did take a look inside the data.zip file :-)

Any solution to this bug, in the input screen the program self generates small squares every five or so seconds.
Seems like it does this only with units running WinCe 4.2
IGO version 8.00xx works ok, but all versions 8.31xxx and 8.32xxx seem to have this self generating squares problem.

I was using the GPS today with JM's large data.zip (the 30+ MB one) and I encountered the destination issues (which I know have been fixed in later data.zip files). Anyhow, one cool thing I noticed were popup signs like the navigon showing large signs at the top of the screen with what lanes to be in. This feature is very nice and I was wondering if this was a feature added by the large data.zip or the new iGo software. I did a short simulation from my home to my office with the fixed zip (only 6 MB) and I noticed this feature was gone. So either the new smaller data.zip took the lane assist feature away or maybe my short travel to work on the highway didn't have the lane assist for that exit. Please let me know. Thank you!

if you don't have or want to use the autorun (2577 folder), you can just keep all the data on the sd card and manually put the files you need in the iGO8 folder in Program Files (same as in previous version, just replace the igo.exe file with the new one). then, just "copy" the igo.exe file and "paste shortcut" (and rename to whatever you want) in WINDOWS/START MENU/Programs/ and the file will be available for you in the Today screen

This is incredible. I've been trying to post this reply for over half an hour... This site is REALLY having load balancing problems...

In any case, Igal27, this is a good workaround.
However, I'd like to fully resolve the problem so as to have a fully automated install (since I frequently test new ROMs, and this requires frequent HRs).

ok, but for this you can use the 2577 folder that's been posted. i don't know why you're having trouble with that; despite the workaround i suggested (which i used at first), i since had trouble with my ppc and had to hard reset it, and after that reinstalled using the 2577 folder, and i'm not experiencing any trouble (it does NOT ask me to reinstall - or say anything for that matter - after either a soft reset or removing and reinserting the sd card). i actually kept my "save" folder, but i understand from some other posts that deleting the save folder may solve some sort of problems, so you may want to try that (and after you see it works, you can put back any backed up files you may need, like favorites).

@JM

Bro, is there any ETA or are you working at all on making the other resolutions work with 8.3.2.x? Especially 480x800 and 800x480 or at least 240x400 and 400x240. Without those the new version is a no-go on those high-res devices :-(

This one is definitely NOT based on 8.3.2, although it might work with it (did not test - I'm not using diMka's skin)

Hello Guy's :D ,

I just "upgraded" from the 3rd Sept version to the 13th Nov version on my Omnia...it seems to run, have not tried it on the road but all seems to work fine!
I tried to read this topic but half of the time I get the message this page cannot be displayed or it takes ages to load etc so I will ask the question which may already been answered in one of the 72 pages...(This site is very unstable...server overloaded?)

In the old version you had an folder called "scheme" in the content folder in which you could find color scheme's, I had a day and night scheme from navifriends in there. In this version this folder does not exist? Is the location of this folder changed or does it simply no longer exist? Can whe load a different color scheme in this version or does the software functions different?

Time for an update to the Booce UK special.

Included is Igo 8.3.2 with the fixed 8mb Data zip from Jetmouse (now you can reach your destination!)
TTS Simon and Kate with boosted volume (dll's suitable for WM4.2 - 6.1)all files already installed and ready to go.
End of October 08 Speedcameras
DEM that covers just the UK
UK Buildings
Customised UK Branding file to show correct logos for UK companies
GJ 4.6 skin for Igo 8.3.2
DimkaSpecter 0.68
TMC (tested and working)
Extra colour schemes
Autorun installer
Customised sys.txt for smoother TTS, larger screen fonts and quick screen updates

All tested and working on Ipaq Hx2790b at 240x320 and Navman C520 at 320x240

This is a stripped down version of Igo in that it has content for the UK only. No European/USA maps just good old blighty. Sadly it still weighs in a about 280 MB so is still too big to fit on a 256MB card. All the extras have been shamelessly cribbed from far more talented people than I, like Jetmouse and the Skin creators. I just package it all up and make sure it all works.

You will need both parts to unrar.

http://rapidshare.com/files/169155476/iuk.part2.rar

In order to stop either of the customised skins crashing with out of memory errors, turn off the scroll road names option.

If you want the Ultra voices in English with the DimkaSpectre skin, you need to have the ogg files on your SD card in this directory structure:
igo8\audio\en\voice_female\

Good luck and enjoy

AGDelaney wrote:Contact import on 57021 (likely same with latest version)

I have not been able to get iGO to recognise my contacts since upgrading to 57021. I just added a contact in Outlook and sync'd my PPC - and iGO immediately tried to import it. This makes me think that there should be a way to get iGO to rescan my contacts database and import them correctly. Any suggestions what could be done to get iGO to rescan? Delete a file somewhere?

Same problem for me.

This feature never work for me, nor on Igo 8.0.x or 8.3.x.

I use Outlook 2003 for enter my data (like you it's seems), and they are correctly enter.

Maybe a problem with the format of the data ??.

Thx.

Hi Booce,

Can you tell me how you did the installation of iGO on a Navman C520?

I have a C530 where i want to place iGO8 on. The installation should be the same for the C520 ans the C530.

LZH, Using your latest data.zip with 800x480 resolution, I notice that street fonts are halved when in 2D mode. In other words, fonts are perfectly legible in 3D mode, however, they really are too small in either of the 2D modes. Is something you would need to correct on your end, or something I can target to the 2D mode in order to make the font larger?

Also, the headings on the compass are far too small to read as well at the 800x480 resolution. Although, you probably see that as well. Thanks for your work!
