The new Data.zip from JM is running perfectly on my ASUS P535

Okay, before it was great, too but now at the end no more re-route-calculation.

You really need paid by IGO ;)

I created one ultra minimalist skin (thanks sascos), which just adds the house numbers on the default screen. I did it for one resolution but be free to extend it. Just be sure you use the data.zip for 8.3.2 not older.

In other words, fonts are perfectly legible in 3D mode, however, they really are too small in either of the 2D modes. Is something you would need to correct on your end, or something I can target to the 2D mode in order to make the font larger?

Also, the headings on the compass are far too small to read as well at the 800x480 resolution. Although, you probably see that as well. Thanks for your work!

I used the data from the official v8.3.1 data.zip which includes 800x480, and modified it so it runs properly on 8.3.2. Text size and compass are 100% identical. Maybe I can change the size of the streetnames in 2D, nothing promised though. Who is using compass anyway ;)

Ow and of course thanks to bro JM for both the iGO release, as well for the advice ;)

OK, thanks! I'm using the ipaq 310 with 800x480 resolution, but I think the 400x240 almost looks better with its wider streets. Using the higher resolution, the streets are almost too narrow even after adjusting the smart zoom levels. I would have thought that the streets would have been relatively identical in "visible widths" (not "resolution widths" of course) between all the various resolutions of the data.zip.

Also, FWIW, I have added entries in the sys.txt to reduce the size of the car/arrow in the 800x480 resolution, and after that, the refresh rate seems to have increased, and tracking is consequently more smooth. Give it a try!

[map]
2dheadup=1
3d_scale_carmodel=1
3dcarsizemin=3800
3dcarsizemax=5800
3dcarsizemul=10000

Lastly, is there anything I can add to the SYS to double the widths of the streets besides adjusting zoom levels? And for the street fonts in 2D? Or, must those mods be adjusted in the data.zip?

after days of crying, I finally figure out why this new version gave me gps errors all the time: AGPS must be disabled on my f..ing Diamond. I'm sure someone said this before, but I haven't read all the post lately.

if you don't have or want to use the autorun (2577 folder), you can just keep all the data on the sd card and manually put the files you need in the iGO8 folder in Program Files (same as in previous version, just replace the igo.exe file with the new one). then, just "copy" the igo.exe file and "paste shortcut" (and rename to whatever you want) in WINDOWS/START MENU/Programs/ and the file will be available for you in the Today screen

This is incredible. I've been trying to post this reply for over half an hour... This site is REALLY having load balancing problems...

In any case, Igal27, this is a good workaround.
However, I'd like to fully resolve the problem so as to have a fully automated install (since I frequently test new ROMs, and this requires frequent HRs).

ok, but for this you can use the 2577 folder that's been posted. i don't know why you're having trouble with that; despite the workaround i suggested (which i used at first), i since had trouble with my ppc and had to hard reset it, and after that reinstalled using the 2577 folder, and i'm not experiencing any trouble (it does NOT ask me to reinstall - or say anything for that matter - after either a soft reset or removing and reinserting the sd card). i actually kept my "save" folder, but i understand from some other posts that deleting the save folder may solve some sort of problems, so you may want to try that (and after you see it works, you can put back any backed up files you may need, like favorites).

I seem to be having trouble finding the 2577 folder that's been posted. Could you please give me a link?

I have not been able to get iGO to recognise my contacts since upgrading to 57021. I just added a contact in Outlook and sync'd my PPC - and iGO immediately tried to import it. This makes me think that there should be a way to get iGO to rescan my contacts database and import them correctly. Any suggestions what could be done to get iGO to rescan? Delete a file somewhere?

I have the same problem with v8.3.2.64873's release... Any help need... :)

Oh, there is a data.zip for 8.3.2.x with 800x400 and maybe 400x800 ?? Please post a download link for that. I only see JMs latest, which has 240x320 etc ...

thanks

Rename to data.zip

And again as a reminder for the ones with problems: DO NOT USE ANY SKINS WHICH ARE NOT SPECIFICALLY FOR 8.3.2.64873.

Sorry, I overlooked this post first. Any chance you might be doing a portrait mode .... 480x800 ?

Anybody knows why mirrored the house numbers in diMka and Gurjon skins? How can I change the Left and right side?
