Try this,

[power]
powermgm_state=3

This time you'll have always on backlight. Working in my Samsung Omnia.

Destination reached speech is said 40 meters before arrival. Tested with TTS and current voices with default skin.

Please LZF, could you fix it next time?

smileyg wrote:I have been trying unsuccessfully to install 8.3.2.64873. I currently have 8.3.1.56007. I have the HTC touch pro and every time I installed it, it kept asking me to load the program in the SD card (which was where the program was all the time :( ). Then I added the line in beginning of sys.txt which kind of forces it look in the SD card and that solved the problem. But then I started getting memory error.

Then I installed 8.3.1 again and then just replaced the igo.exe file, added a copy of igo.exe renamed as application.dat (I saw someone mentioning that in this thread) and used some of the modifications of the sys.txt which I found. This time the program installed but I couldn't see the exit/close program button in the initial screen.

Could someone point me to a working 2577 folder and igo folder which I could install the same way I installed the 8.3.1
Also, what does the application.dat file do? Do I need it or could I just remove it?

I am quite happy with the 8.3.1 but it seems like 8.3.2 does not have the gps lag and that is the main reason I would like to upgrade.

Thanks a lot.

application.dat is one and the same as igo.exe, just renamed - if you're running igo directly from the sd card, you don't need application.dat, you just have to have igo.exe in the igo folder on the sd card. if you're autoinstalling onto your device (i.e. with the 2577 folder), you have to have application.dat in the igo folder on your sd card (if it isn't there, just duplicate the igo.exe file and rename the duplicated file application.dat). during the installation process, the autoinstaller from the 2577 folder copies application.dat over to your device and renames it igo.exe.

as for not seeing the exit button in the initial screen, you probably started up in msnd mode. you have to disable this mode to get to the "standard" main screen (which does have an exit button). to do this, add these lines to your sys.txt:

[msnd]
enabled=0

Nope, this still does not fix it. Let me explain again just to make sure I explain it correctly:

Using a Mio 310x running Windows CE 4.2. No problems of this nature ever experienced under MioMap version 3.2 or 3.3.

1. Setting Backlight at Daytime / Night all the way up in the IGO settings.
2. Turn off the Mio (just puts it in a suspend mode turns off the backlight since Win CE devices always on).
3. Turn the Mio back on and backlight is dimmer. Did not close the IGO program before turning the device off, in fact, you can still be on the device backlight IGO settings screen and see this. The sliders for Backlight are still at max. However, if you slide them down just one notch (towards dimmer), the screen instantly brightens. Sliding back up to max restores the original full brightness.

Ok, test 2.
1. Have the Backlight settings in IGO at max. EXIT IGO before turning off the Mio.
2. Turn the Mio back on. Now the Win CE 4.2 desktop looks dimmer as well.
3. Start IGO. During initial loading screen for IGO 8, appears dimmer but suddenly during the load appears to shift brighter.
4. Checking in settings shows both backlight sliders max, sliding them down does DECREASE the backlight, showing indeed during loading the backlight levels in the program were read again and reloaded.

Thus it does appear to be something happening in Win CE 4.2. This blows my mind since I never saw it occur in either of those past MioMap versions just leaving MioMap up. Of course, back then, I had the device LOCKED instead of unlocked, and maybe that's the problem. Windows CE has a level built into it it's reading when I turn on it didn't do before since it was a locked device only running MioMap. I see no options for backlight levels (only how many minutes to turn it off after based on battery or external power) in Win CE 4.2.

Can anybody comment on this to help me resolve or if there is nothing I can do?

Secondly, I've added the TTS section to sys.txt as such:

[tts]
always_say_road_names=1
announce_exit_directions=1
announce_street_name=1

Despite this, with the newest US voices for 8.3.2, using the old dll files (2 files) to allow TTS Logundo voices to work on CE 4.2, I am not getting road names MOST of the time. I'm still getting a lot of turn lefts and rights ONLY. Any comments / solution? Am I alone in this?

I have two GPS coming from China the Navsoon 385 (Samsung 400Mhz with WinCE4.2) and the Navsoon 3776 (Central 300Mhz with WinCE5.0).

:( Both GPS are working perfectly with IGO8 R1, but the Navsoon 385 does not work with any IGO8 R3 version?

:o Is this problem identified?

:? If YES, is that to do, to make it working?

Thanks for your answer.
