My problem isn t here mentioned yet.I read all posts,and didn t find it.If some1 wrote about it,sorry.

So far, this thing is working great on my c310x Mio. Which is amazing since I now have TTS and maps of all over the world thanks to this forum. And the Mio was on Woot for $60!

The only thing I'm wondering is the dimming problem just a glitch on the Mio? What happens is if you turn the unit off then on, when it returns on it's much dimmer than before (as if it were running off battery but it's not). To get it to be bright again you have to go into the brightness adjustments and even though it's set to max, you have to slide it down then up again (hard to do when driving).

Just wondering if this is a glitch everyone is dealing with or just us Mio users; and if there's a fix. Thanks so much!!

The screen dimness is one I've searched for as well. Here's what I THINK I know...
1) the problem relates to how 4.2 is installed on the 310x with it unlocked. I think there's a brightness setting fixed in it somewhere (it's not adjustable through menu controls). I THINK it could be edited....if I knew what and where.
2) the only current thing is everytime you turn it off either doing the adjust to brightness in IGO 8, or else exiting and restarting IGO 8. IGO 8 loads that brightness setting when it gets started...not when leaving it up and using your on/off button.

BTW, was that new or refurbished on woot and when??? Heck of a snag, wouldn't mind picking one up for the gf.

After installing your last Data file, my Xperia works well except that I am no longer able to select a different skin: the theme setting is shaded so not usable.
Any fix for that ?

You can change the colour of the guidance strip in ANY colour scheme by adding these lines to color.ini and color3d.ini (If not already there)

;Color of the road arrows
guidancestrip = 0,255,133,30
guidancestrip_ext = 0,255,255,255

The values above will give you orange arrows

the black arrow you circled IS the guidance strip, NOT the "next arrow". if you want to get it to the original colors (i.e. orange arrow on red route), just delete the "scheme" folder from your contents (or at least default-day.zip). then you'll only be left with the default day and night color schemes in your settings, and the default day scheme is the one with the orange arrow (guidance strip).

After installing your last Data (V8), all works well on my Mesada 2440 (7" 480x234) with standard skin, and with skin "Dimka by WertVRV v 1.0.0"

thanks Megaduck99, i also thought he was referring to the guidance strip, but it turns out he actually meant the arrows at the top left that tell you what the next turn (and the one after the next) will be. in the screen shots on the diMka skin page, they show as green and yellow, but in taxol's screen shot (which is the same i have on mine), they are both black. i'm using 8.3.2.64873 with diMka 1.0.6 and the default daytime color scheme. any ideas?

You have to look for another DIRICON*.BMP files - such files contain different arrows with various shapes and colors. Or you can try to edit the original ones.

i have been using 8.3.2.64873 for 2 weeks and yesterday i noticed something very important with the software:
when i tried to change mode from pedestrian to vehicle on navigation screen (while driving), igo got frozen.
anybody experienced this or know howto overcome ?

Anyone have a good warking 2577 autorun folder forv8.3.2.64873 (Nov 13 2008) ?? I try to use old one from previous versions but it doesn't work. Any time I plug in SD card there is an information about newer version and errors durring instalation. The software is working OK when I start it from file explorer, but it isn;t what I want. I would like to autoinstall after hard reset of my pocket PC and have a shortcut on my today screen.

does exist the stretch function in the new version?

ziksinski, copy your igo8.exe and rename the copy application.dat in the same directory as igo8. Now run the installer again and all will be good. This question has been answered at least three times in this very thread. May I suggest a light use of the search feature in future?
