Zik, I suggest you delete all the igo8 files and folders on your device and make sure you have the igo8 and 2577 dir on your SD card. Put SD in device and let it install. As long as the application.dat and igo8.exe are exactly the same (except for their name of course) and both live in the same folder, it should stop bugging you with upgrade/downgrade messages.

Booce.

Please, could anyone confirm this bug in other devices and resolutions? I'm running Igo on a Samsung Omnia in both 400x240 and 240x400.

Sorry, but I'm not a joker at all. Why do you say that? I've posted because it really happens on my Samsung Omnia and at this time I've no way to upload a video to prove it.

And here you have a similar problem posted by badmania98,

There is a lag/delay in 240x400 (Omnia). I am in intersection and on the screen I am at 25-30m before it. In 400x240 is no problem.

kaiguy wrote:I attempted to enable MSND in sys.txt by adding:

[msnd]
enabled=1

This gives me a completely new home menu (without an icon to exit the program). But when I click on the MSN Direct icon, I get the following error:

FFUIERROR: Unknown object identifier
Identifier=[vMsndMainMenu]
Script "[Unnamed]"
command 0

Anyone have any luck with MSND? Thanks!

I am also interested in getting MSN Direct working, since I don't have a TMC receiver, but my phone does have broadband internet. Does anyone know how to get this working? I'm getting the same error message reported above when I click the menu button. Screenshot is attached. Lack of traffic updates w/o additional hardware is one of the only two things keeping me from buying this software.

After installing your last Data file, my Xperia works well except that I am no longer able to select a different skin: the theme setting is shaded so not usable.
Any fix for that ?
Many thanks.

You can't select another skin for the simple reason that there are NO WVGA skins (800x480 or 480x800). If you want to use skins you have to downgrade to WQVGA (400x240 or 240x400).

For HTC Touch Pro and Touch Diamond, please add 480x640 as well.

There is no 480x640 or 640x480 skin included in the official 8.3.1 data.zip (or any other version of data.zip), so it's not possible for me to add that. I can fix the current available resolutions so they work on 8.3.2, but I'm no skin creator ;)

For the ones having speed problems, I suggest to disable MSND, read this for instance: viewtopic.php?p=304305#304305

Here is a link for iGO8 8.3.2.6xxxx for Samsung Omnia (no contents) (probably working with other devices too)

http://rapidshare.com/files/173989908/OMNIA_8326xxxx.rar.html

Tested and working great.

Put it in storage (or sd card, but then change sys.txt) and run igo8.exe.

I tried again today when I drove to the airport and found that the slow refresh rate is due to the default 240x320 skin.

I tried the diMka skin and it worked beautifully, very smooth graphics as before (8.3.1). Anybody could fix the 240x320 default skin?

The 640x480 and 480x640 resolutions can be interpolated in the VGA display within the sys.txt, adding highres=1 and VGA=1. However the flags, icons, arrows... are still in 240x320 and 320x240 res., so they looks a little blurry and ginned in VGA resolution. I think that you can add the highres objects (flags, icons, arrows...) of the 800x480 480x800 replacing those in the 320x240 240x320 data for VGA... Why don't you try?
