Problem with North America POIs...hope someone can help. If I use the North America POI file from igo 8.3.2.x (Navteq maps) the NY State POI file is 3MB. The TeleAtlas 2008.04 POI file (used with igo 8.0.0.x) for NY is over 20MB. So - seeing in this thread I can just use the TeleAtlas version, I copied the larger file into my igo 8.3.x POI folder. However I see the following behavior when testing it by searching around my GPS position (my house).

Searching for "Marquee Cinema"

Using the larger Teleatlas file with Igo 8.0.0.x - it finds the nearest is 8 miles away - which is correct
Using the smaller NavTeq file with Igo 8.3.2.x - it finds the nearest is 8 miles away - which is correct
Using the larger Teleatlas file with Igo 8.3.2.x - it finds the nearest one is 113 miles away - obviously wrong

I've confirmed this with sevaral POIs.

Any ideas how to get igo 8.3.2.x to recognize the new POIs correctly? I noticed when I copied all the US POI files into the directory (about 400MB vs. 200MB) the first time I restarted 8.3.2.x it flew right past the INITPOI screen where I had thought it would take some time to assimilate the new files (yes - I reset the device first before trying)

Since only one person responded with seeing this type of behavior (and no solution) - let me ask a different question....does anyone know how to force a full POI INIT to happen? What I mean is usually when you load a new package, the first time you run Igo it sits for a while on the POI INIT screen...then subsequent startups go quickly...is there any way to force Igo into thinking it's got all new POIs to load?

delete the save folder and reboot!

that should force it.

i used the full download and added the data.zip from 20.12. also i added the "type=ALIAS_XPERIA" to the sys.txt and i changed the [folders] to the right destination.

but i still get:

FFUIERROR: Parse error [</script> expected]

did i miss anything? (the releaser uses his XPERIA to test for bugs, so it should be possible...)

works great on my Kaiser by the way. great work and thanks in advance!

[device]
type="ALIAS_XPERIA"

should be enough, don't change any folders

OK guys, I am still not able to resolve the dim screen problem. I tried everything recommended here. I tried all of these in the sys.txt and system.ini files:

[power]
powermgm_state=0

[power]
powermgm_state=1

[power]
powermgm_state=2

[power]
powermgm_state=3

All of them, no difference. The GPS is plugged into power, I turn it off, when I turn it back on the screen is way dimmer than before (as if it's in battery mode but it's not).

This is the only huge annoyance for me because it's dangerous trying to reset the brightness in the menu after turning it back on while driving.

I'd appreciate any other pointers to get this fixed. The above suggestions did nothing. And I did turn off all power management stuff in the Windows power management and display settings already.

Thanks!

i am using a german device. so i have to change

[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"

into

[folders]
app="Speicherkarte/iGO8"

otherwise it doesnt start (gives me the "please inser original SDcard" error).
then it will give the "parse error", i mentioned in my first post, during MAINSCREEN LOAD.

could it be anything else (maybe related to me using a german ROM (original)?) and i should replace the data.zip from the big download with the newer one, shouldnt i?

thanks for you VERY quick response LZF!

I have a Dutch device, and still use the standard line app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"
%SDCARD% just means to take the standard storage card, in your case 'Speicherkarte', in my case 'Opslagkaart'.

You should for sure replace the data.zip from the big download to mine, it will work 100%: http://rapidshare.com/files/175258721/d ... ed_v8b.zip

Try this time with this configuration on the sys.txt and tell me back how it works.

What version shell I run on my Mio Moov 200?

This sounds like license problem. Some versions are with license that checks SD card presence check post #8 and use license suggested in that post.

You are the man! It was the issue, I replaced it and now it works fine!

Isn't is possible to just include every possible license (or at least Flash and SD licenses)? They are just so small, and can save a lot of people from running into troubles.

You can use the loading.bmp-s from the Nov7 PDA version (in data.zip, igo8_ui, 800x480 and 480x800 folders) ;)

Helloy guys...

I am little confused... I think the answers are probably somewhere in this loooong thread, but I can't find them. I use an Samsung i780. If someone could direct me to the right place or could give me short answer would be great...:

- Also the complete download (software + content) does not have an 2577 folder? Who has an up to date 2577 folder for 8.3.2.64873 (Nov 13 2008)? I really enjoy it when it is installed on my internal storage and I have the today plugin... If I am correct, the 2577 folder must be suitable to the program version?!

- Isn't it possible to configure IGO not to use the device settings like lock phone after xx minutes or shut down the light or going to stand by?

- Can't I configure route with adresses from my contacts? I can't find any way to do that?

Thanks guys...
