I use HTC Kaiser, installed igo8 8.3.2.64873

When I quit from Igo, the backlight of device cannot turn back as I set. Why?

I set in Igo brighter than in default. When I quit, it is as bright as in Igo. It cannot get light back.

The one not giving me the problem was a newer version that only needed to be on the SD card. Maybe this has something to do with it? I'd like to return the Mio giving me problems back to factory restore but now it won't get detected in Windows XP any more (the one not giving me problems is detected just fine)

Hi,
In Control Panel in my device, I have an icon: USB client switch, in order to be detected for Activesync it must be set in RNDIS.
Hope this one helps.

Thanks but I don't have that USB client switch in my control panel.

If there's a way to get my Mio back to factory stock I could probably fix this screen dimness problem but since I can't connect it to my PC after this stupid auto unlock install I did I think I'm screwed. :(

What's this?

- to enable MSND, put the following lines into your SYS.TXT

Code:
[msnd]
enabled=1

Thanx...

Ok guys. I have played somewhat with this latest 13 nov release. There are some
nice new features. The main issue that I found now is to disable the "not so loved"
roundabout cam. Also nice are the text balloons for nearby roads on the map when
navigating (or simulating) in 3d. The memory needs however are increasing with
the verion numbers.

Disable the roundaboutcam in sys.txt:

[roundaboutcam]
enabled=0 ;(1)
centery=20 ;(50)

My current sys.txt 28 dec 2008
Code: Select allhttp://rapidshare.de/files/41229958/sys.zip.html

Best wishes and good health for 2009 :O)

Cheers

Problem with North America POIs...hope someone can help. If I use the North America POI file from igo 8.3.2.x (Navteq maps) the NY State POI file is 3MB. The TeleAtlas 2008.04 POI file (used with igo 8.0.0.x) for NY is over 20MB. So - seeing in this thread I can just use the TeleAtlas version, I copied the larger file into my igo 8.3.x POI folder. However I see the following behavior when testing it by searching around my GPS position (my house).

Searching for "Marquee Cinema"

Using the larger Teleatlas file with Igo 8.0.0.x - it finds the nearest is 8 miles away - which is correct
Using the smaller NavTeq file with Igo 8.3.2.x - it finds the nearest is 8 miles away - which is correct
Using the larger Teleatlas file with Igo 8.3.2.x - it finds the nearest one is 113 miles away - obviously wrong

I've confirmed this with sevaral POIs.

cyclism6486 - I had the same problem as you - the POI's from the 8.0.x maps did not work with the 8.3.x software. After a few hours of trial and error, I found the problem - my version of the map/POI data came from the OCN8 release, and it is not compatible. The most recent version of the 8.0.x map data (2008.4) does work.

See the other thread with the R1 maps http://forum.ppcwarez.org/viewtopic.php?f=256&t=43149 to download the entire 1.2~Gb and it will fix your problem.

bobzo...that was indeed the problem....I dl'd the IGO POIs and sure enough they are now seen. I donated $10 WRZ to you for helping me out.

Old POIS from 8.0.0 series DO work with Navteq maps. For older POIs (2007) you need however this in sys.txt:

[poi]
enable_pois_before_080217=1

cyclism6486 - you're wellcome, that is the value of this community - someone somewhere has the same problem.

adit - you are correct, 8.0.x POI's do work with 8.3.x; cyclism6486 and I were using OCN8 POI's for North America and those do not work with 8.3.x (but worked fine with 8.0.x software)

Anyone else who has problems with the contact POI?

I have it set to:
enable_pois_before_080217=1

But that didn't help. Still no contacts showing up on my map. All other POIs are shown though.

I have a Mio520 with the Nov13 IGO8 ,and the TTS for the pna from Jetmouse.I am using the DAVE TTS V.1 because unlike SUSAN v1.84 is more precise with the street names and directions than SUSAN.The only problem with DAVE is there is a ton of bass when he talks.I am running the GPS through my radio in my car.Looking at both files in the SUSAN DIRECTORY and the DAVE DIRECTORY i find more files in the latter.Maybe this has something to do with the problem some people are experiencing with the street names.Thanks and MERRY Christmas and have a HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL.
