OK, not a problem. :)

But I know, what you mean. I have no further idea, if the automatic re-route calculation option is already set. :?

Route re-calculation is happening automatically for me as well..

However, I have not been able to solve my off-road lock-up problem (with all 8.3.1 and 8.3.2 versions) using US maps... I've found that even it I don't have a route defined, it still locks the device up when driving off-road.... Strange... I'm wondering if it has to do with the map vendor. R1 version uses TeleAtlas maps, but R3 versions use Navteq maps.

I've also noticed that the Navteq maps don't show the elevated roads as being elevated (no shadows, etc), whereas the TeleAtlas maps show that "feature" just fine...

I think it depends on the specific bridge/road in question being properly mapped. Driving around DC today, about half the overpasses showed up in 3d, half didn't.

I've tried iGo 8.0 with the Q4 2008 TeleAtlas maps and iGo 8.3.2 with the Q2 2008 Navteq maps and box exhibit the same behavior.

I'm in the US (and I've tested this in Illinois and Missouri).

No matter what trip I do, whether its 30 minutes or 5 hours, iGo is always off on the ETA, and its bad enough that if I divide the miles in the trip by the speed limit, the ETA always seems to be based on a speed lower than the speed limit.

For example, from Elburn, IL to Cortland, IL, it'll give me a route which is pretty good, but as I drive the ETA constantly decreases. It might start off saying 30 minutes, then every 30-60 seconds it'll take a minute off of that and in the end the trip only takes about 20 minutes.

If I do a route from Illinois to Missouri, Garmin and other GPS software gives me a route which takes about 5 hours. iGo will give me a similar route, but the ETA will show 6 hours. Even if I customize the route to make it the same as Garmin, it'll show 6 hours while Garmin says it'll take 5. The ETA in iGo won't be accurate until I'm about 15 minutes from my destination in this example.

It doesn't matter whether its interstate/highway routes or country roads.
This is the only thing keeping me from using iGo, otherwise it is an excellent piece of software.

I've read a few other posts like this, but nobody seems to have a solution.

Any ideas?

Hi Guys

I installed 8.3.2.71348 on Mio C320 w/16gb SD card but it has the wake-up problem - going into standby with iGo8 running and when you power back my C320 freezes.

I tried
[power]
skip_resume_process=1
skip_suspend_process=1

It slightly improved things as now Igo8 reboots instead of freezing.
Did not have this problem w/8.3.2.64873.
Anyone has any ideas?

@mindfrost:
iGo8 is not using speed limit for ETA computing, but different number - estimated "real" speed which is lower, of course. Maps in FBL format contain such data for eacg road and according to my experience the ETA from iGo is more realistic than the TomTom's one :wink:

Did you tried the BtBrowserEnabled trick? If not, take the following steps:
1. Get a registry editor(You can do even with TotalCommanderCE and the registry plugin).
2. Pair the GPS with the iPAQ.
3. Connect(thru BT manager) to the GPS, then disconnect(hopefully for the last time).
4. Open the registry editor, and navigate to \HKLM\Software\Widcomm\BtConfig\AutoConnect\0005, and create a new DWORD key called BtBrowserEnabled, and give it the value 0 (zero).
5. Close the registry editor and soft-reset your iPAQ.
6, Now the iPAQ should connect automatically every time to the BT GPS, when it's needed; at least on my h3970(WM2003 en) it does.
Explanations: The registry mod will bypass the BT manager, when you need to read from the BT COM port; every time when you need
the GPS, the BT driver(stack) take care of the connection.
Good luck !!!

Thanks for that info. I noticed the speed its using is lower than the speed limit, but if I'm taking an interstate trip this causes the ETA to be way off since I'm usually going a little over the real speed limit.

I haven't used TomTom in a long time, so I'm not sure how accurate their's is. Garmin's seem pretty accurate from my experience. Too bad there's not a way to adjust this a little.

TomTom with IQ routing is apparently the most accurate now.

BTW, igo8.3 R3 can use both the latest US Navteq maps and the earlier July Teleatlas maps.
