Here is an update on the "off-road" lock-up issue I've been having... I've tried some recommendations that folks have suggested on this board, but to no avail...

However, I think I have narrowed down the problem a little... I've found that the lockup only seems to occur ONLY if your device obtains a GPS signal while in the "off-road" area. If you already have a GPS signal when you reach the off-road location, the lock-up does NOT occur, even when going from the off-road position back to the road again.

However, if you turn your device on while at the off-road location, wait to obtain a GPS signal and then drive close enough to a road that iGo thinks you are on the road, that is when the lockup occurs.

Again, I've experienced this problem with all R3 versions using both PDA and PNA with 2008Q2 North America maps (Pennsylvania to be specific).

It would be great if someone can confirm this now that I have more specifics as to EXACTLY when/how it happens!

Thank you!

That's exactly what I found. Basically, off-road -> on-road = lock-up. on-road -> off-road -> on-road = fine.

I tried uninstall/re-install, still the same problem. :( Also, I am pretty sure my 71348 was importing the contacts. But after re-installation, it will not do it any more.

Hello,
I installed the 8.3.2.XX version and i have a strange problem. When ever i am in a text input field it keeps on adding a junk character(a rectangle box) and an input sound(just like when you tap on keyboard) every 2-3 seconds. so i couldnt enter any address/number correctly as its all had a box in between the letters. I tried all exes and data.zip and different zip but no help. The navigation works great but no TTS. i was using the 8.0 version on the same PNA with TTS without any issues.

can some body help me with this pls.... Plsssssssssssssssss

I really come to the conclusion, that this is a map problem...

I wake up from stand-by daily in an off-road parking-lot (although it's only a few meters next to the road, but it's showing as off-road). When I then drive onto the road, it's recalculating and operating normally - with German TA maps (did not try with the NT ones).

So, what you are trying to say is that you use your navigation every morning to get you from your off-road parking lot to work :D :D :D ???

I was thinking the same thing - that it was an issue with the R3 US maps, but then there was another user with maps other than US maps with the exact same problem.

Maybe it's a NavTech map problem. I wanted to test with TeleAtlas maps, but there is only one version of US maps that work with R3 and they are Navtech....

Can anyone confirm if they have this problem with TeleAtlas maps??

Thanks for all of the help with this! I'll have to do some further testing to see if it happens from all off-road locations or just "some" of them....
