Nav N Go iGO 8 R3 (7 jan 2009) starts just fine, but as soon iGO recieves the first GPS-fix, it completely freezes, and a soft-reset is needed.

I have a TyTN II. No changes made to the sys-file. The iGO 8.0 version worked just fine.

Any Ideas?!

Hey everyone,

First of all, thanks for your work done here, I'm glad I found this forum.
I'd like some help, though, with this release. I downloaded the Nav N Go iGO v8.3.1.57021 (Sep 25 2008) + Full EU 2008.7 map pack as linked in the first post to use it with a Mio c720 PNA, without the need for a 2GB SD card. Is that possible? I tried to copy the entire iGo 8 folder to the PNA's internal flash drive, renamed like the original navigation software ("Mio Device\MIOMAP\MioMap"), with igo.exe renamed to miomap.exe. However, when I try to click on the navigation icon in the menu, nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? Please help me, either here or in PM.
Thanks in advance

Hi,

1. add to SYS.TXT
[folders]
app="My Flash Disk\MioMap\MioMap\"

2. you must create "miomap.exe.id" with miomap ID generator and copy to "Mio Device\MioMap\MioMap"

Hi I managed to down load this and via an sd card put it on my PDA Hw65**. when I select the application I get the following error:
Fatal error occured in main thread. Address: 0x002dc5fc. Exception: 0x80000002.

In the bottom right corner I can see which files are being loaded and when this error comes up the file is 'languages'

Any help please?

Running iGo8.exe (and not only iGo :wink: ) from My Flash Disk on any MIO C720 is much more simplier:

1) Make a file called ppath.txt with following content:

Code: Select all; C720
;=====

;Miomap -> Miomap.exe
;Video -> WmPlayer.exe
;Sound -> MP3Player.exe
;Picture -> PictureViewer.exe
;Camera -> Camera.exe
;Contacts -> Contacts.exe
;Phone -> MioBTM.exe (MobilePhone)
;Stereo -> MioBTM.exe (Audio)
;Tools -> Tools
;Scanner -> BCR.exe
;Calculator -> Calculator.exe
;File Manager -> FileManager.exe
;Settings -> Settings.exe

[MioMap]\My Flash Disk\Miomap\Miomap\Miomap.exe
[MioMap]\My Flash Disk\Miomap\Miomap\iGo8.exe

[MioPlayer]<SUB2>
[Videos]<CHILD2>\My Flash Disk\Program Files\WmPlayer.exe
[Videos]<CHILD2>\windows\WmPlayer.exe

[Audio]<CHILD2>\My Flash Disk\Program Files\Mp3Player.exe
[Audio]<CHILD2>\windows\Mp3Player.exe

[Pictures]<CHILD2>\My Flash Disk\Program Files\PictureViewer.exe
[Pictures]<CHILD2>\windows\PictureViewer.exe
[BACK]<CHILD2>

[Camera]\My Flash Disk\Program Files\Camera.exe
[Camera]\windows\Camera.exe

[Contacts]\My Flash Disk\Program Files\Contact.exe
[Contacts]\windows\Contact.exe

[MobilePhone]\My Flash Disk\Program Files\MioBTM.exe
[MobilePhone]\windows\MioBTM.exe

[Stereo]\My Flash Disk\Program Files\MioBTM.exe
[Stereo]\windows\MioBTM.exe

[Tools]<SUB1>
[Card Scanner]<CHILD1>\My Flash Disk\Program Files\BCR.exe
[Card Scanner]<CHILD1>\windows\BCR.exe

[Calculator]<CHILD1>\My Flash Disk\Program Files\Calculator.exe
[Calculator]<CHILD1>\windows\Calculator.exe

[FileManager]<CHILD1>\My Flash Disk\Program Files\FileManager.exe
[FileManager]<CHILD1>\windows\FileManager.exe
[BACK]<CHILD1>

[Setting]\My Flash Disk\Program Files\Settings.exe
[Setting]\windows\Settings.exe

2) Copy ppath.txt to Program Files directory in the connected MIO
3) Copy the whole content of iGo8 directory to Miomap/Miomap
4) Change the "app" path in SYS.TXT to MyFlashDisk/Miomap/Miomap
5) Restart MIO

Simply tap the "navigation" icon and it should run.

This is the way to run anything from anywhere (MFD or SDcard) - simply change the appropriate button mapping.

With mofdified settings you can run for example iGo from MFD, another navigation SW from SD using another button, etc. etc.

Similar file can be created also for C320/520, of course - this one is a little bit larger, because C720 has more functions in the basic menu.

Slightly off-topic but very relevant to the downloads..... I have a premium Rapidsharwe account and Internet Download Manager. Rapidshare is set up as a site in IDM. However, whenerver I try to select the igo8 files, they are all converted to htm files in the IDM download window! It's driving me nuts! Could someone give me a pointer please?

Thanks
