I resolved the same problem this way:

- imported my 'pois.kml' in http://poi.ashus.net database
- exported from that site to 8.3 format 'user.upoi' file
- 'user.upoi' then goes to iGo8/Save folder (userdata/poi remains empty)

now search works, icons show up, symbol can be assigned, folder renamed...

And what about if you have to delete save folder in any release?

Then backup user.upoi first. :)

i have a lot of costum made poi's in diferent kml taken from http://www.pdiromania.ro. they are all in the userdata/poi folder
i can see them in the manage poi menu
i can see them in the find menu, BUT when i type their names in the search menu they do not show up.
..

This seems to be a "bug" in 8.3.2.83157. I get the same result, but I never noticed this in the past respectively earlier versions. I don't use this search on imported POIs very often.

But I use this version of igo & imported icons and pois do appear into the map when I choose them........... !

Certainly, when you choose them from the list !

But the point is:

.... (not) in the search list !

How in the world is that possible? For example, if I select Susan (which is tts), I hear nothing, but if I select Amy (which is non-tts) I can hear her speaking. The same applies to the male voices.
Pretty crazy huh?!

This is even better ... I have 83157 working 99% fine on a Tilt/Kaiser. US Susan TTS works fine, while UK Kate TTS is silent. Riddle me that one.

Good morning,

maybe I can post my question better this morning.
I downloaded the latest realease on page one (May 2004). Now I need to know, how I get the content I need, as this version doesn't contain it.
I also tried to download the older full package, but the links don't work any more.
Would be great to get a hint.

Have a nice day,

By editing the pois manually the names do appear in the search menu & show up. The only pois that are not shown are those which are not near from the direction you introduce as destiny in navigation, take a look at those images;

Of course I used the search function - but I don't have the time to read far more than 200 pages to find out if there's a newer version already, maybe on page 215.
Therefore, a simple "The version on the first page is the latest" would have been enough.

You don't have to go far, just as far as page 1 !
Just saw your last post, this is a legitimate question, sort of 8)
You need to go to the maps thread. viewforum.php?f=241, then select maps and browse to your hearts content.
