Hello guys, I came across with an unnexpected issue in the default skin. Suddenly this option dissapeared from the screen and dunno why :shock: (only appeared one time or two at the beggining and after that dissapeared, not working even deleting SAVE folder):

Image

and after is shown like this:

Image

I have been looking at the setting.ui 240_400 and 400_240 files and this option is registered in the datazip:

<CHECKBOX chk_SpeedCamWarning template=chk_5b y=129 text="Speed camera warning" onselect='run sc_SettingWarningsCheckSpeedCamEula' ondeselect='run sc_SpeedcamWarningDisabled' visiblemodel="warning.speedcams_allowed">
<BUTTON btn_SpeedCamWarning template=btn_5d y=129 text="..." onrelease='NEXTSTATE st_SettingWarningsSpeedCam' enabledmodel="warning.speedcam_warning" visiblemodel="warning.speedcams_allowed">

<layer ui_SettingWarningsSpeedCam z=30>
<SLIDER sldSWC_Sound template=sld_5a y=21 value="Off|0|Simple|1|Full Sound|2" valuemodel="warning.speedcam_soundtype" z=20>
<TEXT txtSWC_Sound template=txt_sld y=21 text="Sound warning:" watchstate=sldSWC_Sound>

<SLIDER sldSWC_Visual template=sld_5a y=57 value="Off|0|On|1" valuemodel="warning.speedcam_visualtype">
<TEXT txtSWC_Visual template=txt_sld y=57 text="Visual warning:" watchstate=sldSWC_Visual>
</layer>

Am I missing anything?
It is not a very real important option but Iwould like to know why it cannot be displayed in the screen.
Thank you guys...,

iGO must have sat lock once to switch ON radar alerts option. Also it's doesn't work in some countries (desided by gps position) because of legal issues.

so i guess if someone wants to save some money in these coutries, it's better to navigate with Igo2006, because it gives radar-warning if the appprorpiate line is deleted from the sys.txt...

btw is it hard to unlock this feature in Igo83? I mean to alert for radars in Germany, Austria and Switzerland?

Try this datazip:

240_400/400_240 resolution datazip:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MIGHYSD7

& add these parameters in your sys.txt like this:

[project]
name="igo8_pda"

[device]
type="ALIAS_XPERIA"

[gps]
port = 4
baud = 38400

[folders]
app="(The path of your device)/iGO8"

[rawdisplay]
high_res=0

[interface]
;vga=1

Good luck,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I'm still getting the same error :(. Has anyone tried v8.3.4 on Xperia??

I guess not … If it is the old iGo 2006's style … HEX text replacing in .exe file … But many advises to remove speedcams when travel to Germany, Swiss or Austria or risk losing GPS to the police!

But as far as I know GPS Speed Warning Devices, without incorporated radar detector, are perfectly legal in all countries, except in Switzerland.

Ok man, well I spent all night thinking about a solution into the data zip as a silly man and I did not remenber this, just with sat unlock the option appeared again. Most of times the easiest solution uses to be the right one.

Thanks...

grijamor wrote:So with these profiles in truck mode, IGO program calculates a route based upon those values by default related to truck, isn't it? I wonder, could be these parameters placed in sys.txt file instead of SAVE folder? if so, it is a very good feature because of the height of the bridges for example. Last time on route I came accross a bridge that couldn't get over because it was only 4.3 height !! :shock: :lol:

It would be really nice to get a working test route to see, if truck limitations do apply.

This would easy skin creation and debug of truck profile settings.

Does anybody know a route, where iGO knows the weight/height settings?
GJM: Where was this bridge, or where are others?

It is not a very real important option but Iwould like to know why it cannot be displayed in the screen.

Speedcam option is only visible with valid SatFix and doesn't show up in Switzerland without modified EXE.

You have to use HEX editor and load igo8.exe. Search for _GER, _SUI and _AUT and replace it with _XXX. Radar warning should work OK now.

In the pda:

Settings -> System -> External GPS (It says external but it actually controls the internal gps also) ->

GPS Program Port = 4 (all gps programs must be changed to use this port #)
GPS Hardware port = None (only used if you have a bluetooth gps or serial gps)
Manage GPS Settings Automatically MUST BE CHECKED (this allows windows mobile to connect to internal gps chip)

In iGo 8:

GPS Settings -> Try Autodetect... if it does not work try:
Port = 4
Baud Rate = 57600

Windows Mobile 5.0 and above uses an intermediate gps driver. When Windows Mobile automatically manages the gps chip (as you should have checked), the gps chip sends the raw nmea satellite data to this intermediate driver via the physical port 4 and then the intermediate driver acts as a gateway and splits the data for all gps programs to access the satellite data. The reason Franson GPSGAte works is because it is doing the exact same thing as the built-in intermediate driver (why use Franson when it is already built in to windows mobile??). So in reality, when iGo is set to port 4, it is actually accessing the intermediate driver via a virtual port 4 (and not the physical port 4) because you set the settings to GPS Program Port 4. This is the correct method because the intermediate driver stores the satellite data in memory. Also, this allows you to connect an infinite amount of gps programs and show a gps signal in each program.

If the settings are not checked to automatically manage your gps settings, then any gps program such as iGo, or google maps or Route 66 will connect to the physical port that the gps chip is connected to and not the intermediate driver. This is the wrong method because every time the gps program connects to gps chip, it must download all the satellite data again taking a very long time. Also, you will only be able to connect one gps program at once.

Makes sense?
