Thank you very much for your work.

I have just looked at the files, are you on that functions?
in the “data.zip” there is no folder “ui_igo8_da”
in the branding.zip there is no folder “ui_igo8_da”
idem skin Dimka 1.1.9
idem skin Igo8_ultra

On the other hand in the skin GJ6.12.p.da the folder is quite present.

In the files “sys.txt” the following lines are not present:

[interface]
skin= " ui_igo8_da "
laneinfo_signpost_enabled=1

[route.histspeed]
enabled=0

I do not think that in the actual version, it functions correctly with the version 8.3.4.102 680

I agree with you about everything but one thing. I dunno think you need a brandingzip with a ui_igo8_da file. At least in my case imported icons appear with the old branding file. The rest of _da files are required...

booce wrote:Hi tichuiche, Glad you appreciate the effort it takes :-) I'm sorry, I should have been clearer in my post, the Driver assist feature works perfectly if you use the GJ skin. You are of course correct in that that is not the original data.zip which supports DA in any skin, however given the original data.zip has such limited resolution support and that the DA feature is so useful, I figured a release which supported the DA and a wide range of resolutions would be most use. Of course, I should have made a point of stating that the DA feature only works when you choose the GJ skin. I'll tidy it up.
As for the sys.txt entries, I haven't found them necessary when using the GJ skin. I can assure you that if definately works though having been road testing it for several days now and seeing Driver alerts almost continuously.

Hope that clears it up,

Booce

@booce

You are right new features work with older datazips files but people who like default skin need a data_da file for new features to be shown and, by the other hand, older skins will work with newest data files by renaming ui_igo8 to ui_igo8_da BUT without new features (driver alerts, histspeed...). Now you have data_da files with almost all resolutions.

You need a PDA version in general, only the PDA versions are able to support contacts navigation. For example: viewtopic.php?p=308151#p308151

The versions discussed in this thread are ripped PNA versions, even though they work in principle on a PDA.

I am using iGO v8.3.2.97313 (Jul 3 2009) - official retail R3 PDA version
but still cannot find that option
any idea where it would be?

Sorry, but I don't use a PDA. :(

Of course you get your contacts imported automatically as POIs in iGO and normally there should also be a supplemental entry in the context menu of a selected (outlook) address book entry to start the navigation.

Did you perform a full clean setup of iGO on your device?

Hi, just tried with the package mentioned in your post but it doesn't work. I can't hear any voice, even when I select one of them in the "local settings" panel.

Hi all!
I am running IGO 8 from ROM (Mio C520)
Some maps are on ROM but space is too small... only 1 GB...
I would like to put more maps on SD card
what command i must use in the sys.txt file to tell IGO to take maps
from the SD card too?
the maps on the SD card are in \IGO8\CONTENT\MAPS FOLDER
Thanks!

All version of igo (and amigo) look for content in igo folder on sd card. Just put Your content to igo folder on sd card.
\IGO\CONTENT\MAP etc.

Try to put this instruction line in sys.txt:

[folders]
;maps="\Storage Card\igo8\Content\Maps"

Where "Storage Card" is the name given by you device to your Memory Card.
Some devices could view the Memory Card under the name of SDMMC.
In this case the instruction will look like follow:

[folders]
;maps="\SDMMC\igo8\Content\Maps"

and examples could follow.

My advice is to try first to see which is the name given by your device to the Memory Card.
Than, use this name instead of "Storage Card", or "SDMMC", etc. etc.
Take care also about the complete name of the folders(ex. maps, instead of map, or vice-versa)

Good luck

Will not the semicolon (;) at the start of the line in the above examples 'remark them out' so they will have no effect?

Hi all,

I have a Mio C620. I use iGo v8.3.4.102680 (Aug 13 2009) with Gurjon's skin running both the app and the maps from the storage card. I have encountered continuous freezes when switching on the GPS. The screen became unresponsive for about 10 sec and very often the GPS went into reboot.

Then I moved some EU maps I haven't been using to my laptop (I removed them from the memory of the Mio), freed up some space and copied the iGO app and the UK map to the internal memory. I have been running everything form the internal memory for 3 days and did not encountered any freezes and reboots.

I am certain that running the app and the maps from the SD card was the reason of the freezes and occasional GPS resets. :lol: :lol: I read some posts that some SD cards are slow and disrupts the initiation process between the card and GPS when the unit is turned off.

If you are moving your app and maps to the internal memory and use the map change feature from the Gurjon skin don't forget to change the map paths in the sys.txt file otherwise the map change feature will not work.

Thank you all very much!
I put these lines in sys.txt in IGO8 on ROM
[folders]
map="%SDCARD%/IGO8/content/map"
and it works!
when the SD is not in slot - igo takes the maps from ROM
When the SD is in slot - igo takes the maps from the SD!
Thanks again!

Hi to all,

I have a Mio C510E. I use iGo v8.3.4.102680 (Aug 13 2009) with last Gurjon's skin running both the app and the maps from the storage card.
My question is: this is the best or is preferred to put the application directly in the flash disk?
:shock:
