Most simple would be to copy the ui_igo8_da folder from data.zip to IGO main directory.
If your data.zip only contains ui_data without _da you could rename it to ui_igo8_da

Hi grandipatenti,

You don't see driver alerts because type of alerts are not in driver alert list :

I've recently put iGO 8 on MyGuide 4200 (otherwise known as a Silverguide 4200 and various other names - basically a Malata product I think). Works fine EXCEPT that after going to standby a few times the sound goes off - sometimes after standby just once, sometimes after several cycles but eventually sound is always lost. I've disabled power management in iGO which helped (with auto shutdown it would crash completely) and have the following in my sys.txt which has delayed the problem but it still happens eventually...

[power]
powermgm_state=0
power_off_mode=0
power_off_timeout=1000
skip_resume_process=0
skip_suspend_process=0

[sound]
queue_length=200
use_os_volume=0

[debug]
mute_os_key=0

Those settings arrived at after experiments and seem to delay the problem but not stop it.

I've tried several version of 8.3, from 71348 right up to 8.3.4 with the same problem in all.

Thing is, the sound for the whole device goes - only way to restore it is a hard reset (no soft reset option). Its as though the sound driver gets stuffed or some such. Another symptom is that sometimes on resume from standby iGO freezes up - if I then go to standby again and immediately turn on again iGO wakes up - its weird :roll:

If any wiz out there can suggest something to try I'd be most grateful!

kram.

Thank you for information,

is it possible to know or is this list, and how to add missing alarms?

That would be my assumption. But, you should look at each line and try to figure out if you need it in your sys.txt and what it will do to your version of iGO8.

The alerts have to be built into the map(s) you are using. Supposedly Navteq's maps are currently better in being utilized by iGO8' driver alert (DA). However, this coding factor that is not being read correctly in TeleAtlas's maps which most likely have some built in.

As with each version of iGO8, a new item is introduced and a new flaw or wrinkle pops up. I'd be willing to bet that NavNGo is in discussion with the major map makers to better correct DA.

And, as with each map factors or alerts built into some are better than other others. Well defined cities probably would have better DA than obscure rural or not reqularly travelled roads.

I'd give iGO8 about three updates and maybe two map cycles before DA works as advertised.
