I add the city: Baia Mare, from ROMANIA, centre as a start POINT
Then I add the street Soseaua de Centura middle, from Baia Mare, Romania as destination
Then I go to the Route tab - Edit Route - Add then i find city: RECEA with subdetail Maramures, Romania, and then i press Select tab.
Then, i verify if the points are in the correct order (and it is): Baia Mare middle 1st, Recea 2nd and Soseaua Centura 3rd.
Then, i go Simulate, and I saw THAT nothing changes.
This happends, not only with my PDA (MIOP560). My friend, had this problem too... but ONLY at igo 8.3 , 8.4 (from nov .2008 till Aug 13 2009).
On IGO 8.0, i say again, I HAVE NOT this problem.
I made exactly what you said.
PS:
1. The road IS NOT one way (lol it is a National Street...)
2. The u-turn is check in settings.
3. The picture in my last post is from a IGO PC (which use igo8.0 maps results i got no PROBLEM)
4. I created those via points points, to creat the route on igo 8.3
5. I have tried i think.... 6 maps (2008.04, 2008.10, 2009.02, 2009.06, 2009.09 (actually) ), from 3 type (TopMap - the best, TeleAtlas and Navteq). The same problem... this rapid, easy, short etc, etc... etc... type of ways
6. The problems with Private road, or uturn inaccesible what you said, ARE EXCLUDED as long as is a national way (the 3rd from Romania)...
Have you tried on your GPS, what i said? I think it is an iGO 8.3 bug.
How could you explain, that, on igo8.0 the problem does not appear?
Since you said your friend has the same problem, I would imagine that it is a problem with iGO8.3. Unless you have a registered version and can send it as a problem ticket to NavNGo (or have someone else who is a registered user), it appears that you are out of luck and will have to do work-arounds to get to your destination.
I have encountered something similar where I live but I think it is a routing problem with how iGO8 computes routes. On my street, when you go west towards the city, you cannot make a left or southbound turn because it is blocked off and labeled as being prohibited. It has been this way for as long as I can remember but none of the major map makers seem to know about it. If I want to go northeast out of the city, iGO8 and all the online maps will compute the route as going to the south. The reason is that going northeast I will pass several schools which have lower speed limits. However, if you know the neighborhood, you can take several side streets as a shortcut and bypass most of the stop signs and speed limits. I have a Via Point built that takes me to the intersection to the northeast just prior to the highway that uses this shortcut.
Basically, you drive a longer distance at slightly faster speeds and get to the location one minute earlier (the route circles around to the south before proceeding northeast on the highway). Common sense and a knowledge of the streets will tell experienced users to use the shortcut I know about. It may be possible that while the road or Via Point you want to use is national road, there may be something built into the way traffic has been built into the maps by the engineers which is forcing iGO8 to do a round-about route similar to what I encounter.
Unfortunately my cellphone is charging right now but I know that Via Points work as per what I recommended to you. And since you and your friend have the same problem, it sounds as if this is an issue either with the software or the maps. Lots of time it is the maps that have a problem and be why iGO8 works when iGO8.3 does not.
Sorry!
