I'm going to buy a Qstarz Q1000X bluetooth GPS receiver, now I use the internal receiver of my Asus PDA with iGO8 v8.3.4.117940. The Qstarz device use 115200 baud rate. But in the iGO I can't set the baud rate to 115200, the maximum is 57600. Other navigation softwares support 115600 kbps and I can also set the baud rate to 115200 in the system settings. Any suggestion?

grijamor. Why are you not getting TTS? Have you tried the different .dll files. There are three sets for the different versions of WinCe.
I'm unsure about Windows Mobile, but there has to be something out there.

Here is a link to another data.zip file:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=47MZ5BI9

Check branding.zip and data.zip both to have ui_igo8 or ui_igo8_da folders.

with your data.zip i have the same message "failed to open file: ui_igo8_da\480_640\loading.bmp". in your data.zip there is not the 480_640 folder, the same as in the original data.zip.
for information, i have the same message on my ipaq 214 and on my htc diamond touch...

Did you ever solve the problem?

I am getting ui_igo8_da\480_640\loading.bmp despite adding that 42mb modified datat and branding zip files.

EDIT:

I have found a fix, I needed to add

Code: Select all[interface]
"vga=1"

into the sys.txt

driver="GDI"

Which one should be better for a VGA screen? I tried both and did not notice a difference. What's the difference ?

I have a working sys.txt for the HTC HD2 but it only works in portrait mode. Rotating the device or selecting the landscape modes doesn't help. So if anyone has a sys.txt for landscape mode please post it.
Here is the sys.txt

[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"

[device]
Type="ALIAS_TOUCH HD"
sdcard_dsk_num=7

[interface]
skin="ui_igo8"
resolution_dir="480_800"
vga=1
screen_x=480
screen_y=800
maxzoom2d=6000000
show_exit=1

[rawdisplay]
autoconfig=1
highres=0
class="auto"
driver=GDI

[debug]
skip_eula=1

I have tried adapting resolution_dir, screen_x and screen_y to landscape values but that didn't work.

Change like below:

[device]
Type="ALIAS_TOUCH HD"
sdcard_dsk_num=7

[interface]
skin="ui_igo8"
vga=1
maxzoom2d=6000000
show_exit=1

[rawdisplay]
screen_x=800
screen_y=480
autoconfig=1
highres=1
class="auto"
driver=GDI

[debug]
skip_eula=1

DarkDvr wrote:Still having problems with the volume.

I've put use_os_volume=0 in [sound], but it did nothing. Whenever I change/mute volume in iGo, it changes/mutes the system volume.
Most of the time I mute iGO, because announcer can get annoying.. and then after I quit iGO I get missed calls cause my phone is in silent mode.

Is there anyway to separate iGO's volume from system volume? Or perhaps set system volume to maximum on exit?

Thanks

Hi, I'm trying iGO8 on my Route66 Chicago GPS which runs on Windows CE Core 5.0 and when I try to execute the iGO8 application, it doesn't allow me to, giving me this message: "iGO8 is not a vaild Windows CE application". Is there any solution to this or should I just give up trying to install it on my GPS?

Thanks.
