DO i have to install another DATA and BRANDING.zip

Thanks a lot for you help.

Another question do you know how to change the car because i have in the file IGO8.3xxx some Folders 3DCars and 3Dcar_model with some other cars but impossible to use them.

Which one should be better for a VGA screen? I tried both and did not notice a difference. What's the difference ?

the GDI work for 2D acceleration and GX work like directX (3D acceleration). For PDA/PNA is not a big difference between both when reffering to navigation programs but if you use 3D games on it IS a notable difference. I recommand the GAPI for HPC’s, v4.04 which is a customized driver. Enjoy.

And which of this (driver = GX or driver = GDI), is good for a QVGA screen (Mio P560) ? I dont play 3d Games... only navigation..

This weekend I have been using the Nov 3 version for over 1100km's and have noted that after a longer time the program seems to hang when I tap on the menu "button" while leaving the map mode. The menu icon becomes dark as it should but nothing elso happens, then when I tap it a second time I get the exit program page, where the program asks you if you would like to quit the program or not. It seems only to happen when it has been in real use i.e route guidance and destination reached, altough I have noted the same behavior before it never was hanging like the last couple of times. Now while playing around with the program the menu button responce is quick and normal. I am running iGO8 on an Mio Moov Spirit 505S which has 128mb ram and which is unlocked with Visual GPS Shell. Anybody has the same experience as I have never seen/noted this with any other iGO8 version I have been using the last 1,5 year?

Hello,

Are there data/branding.zip for newest version (8.3.4.117940) that work with driver alerts AND support 320x240 AND 240x320? ;-)

About the bottoms, in the version 8.3.4.117940, I got also that the bottoms take a long time to switch.
In the simulation mode the car stop for a time and than it go's on (it happens a lot of time)
I use the skin Gurjon and it automatical shut down the program when you reach your destination, When I start than iGO8
again, it switch off very fast. When I start the program again it's working. Maybe the skin is not really good for the version.
When I close down iGO8 with a hardware bottom and start again, it takes a lot of time to start in cockpit screen.
It looks like if the program is not working really running smootly.

After those problems I try the version v8.3.2.124260 (Dec 16 2009) and I don't have those problems anymore.
the bottoms are reacting when I push a bottom, simulation mode is good no hesitation.
Program startup is good, only it takes a little bit longer.
No problems with a skin like Gurjon or Dimka.
I drive now about a week with it, and no problems.
It has nothing to do with PDA or PNA about mine navigation. The maps are working good, also map changer.

itb44 wrote:As a follow up to my post above regarding INRIX/Clear-Channel Total Traffic Network (TTN) RDS-TMC in North America (at least Canada & USA), I've run into a problem. Although I've got "CA-TMC (Key OK)" for one local station after paying up my subscription (had "No Key" for both local RDS-TMC stations before paying for subscription), and the white "tmc" icon now lights up above the iGo8 map, no traffic events are appearing at all. I finally checked the INRIX web map at http://www.bing.com/maps (click on traffic and zoom to desired location), and there seems to be at least one red event that should definitely show, plus several yellow ones that should probably show as well.

JetMouse previously mentioned an Asus Go release that worked in North America. Did that release actually show the North American traffic events, or did it just include the subscription key? I now have a paid-up Clear-Channel TTN subscription key in iGo 8.3.2.93112, but still no traffic events.

Some relevant JM quotes from other threads:

myndwire wrote:any chance of finding licensing for TMC in the USA, or at least the ABILITY to enter a ClearChannel TMC code as of yet?

As for the TMC service: the premium TMC service (that works in certain European countries) is license based. The old World-Wide demo license I used in many releases activates such a service within iGO but not for ClearChannel in the USA. The CC signal in the USA is scrambled and there's a need for a decrypting routine with a proper key which is missing in generic iGO8 releases. So no matter what license you use or how hard you "hack" iGO executable, it wont work until you inject such a routine with a key by yourself! There are of course iGO8 releases that have this CC decryption routines included. An example is the iGO8 PNA release for Asus R700t navigation device for Noth America market. Those works just fine with CC in USA. I tested it myself 8)

JetMouse wrote:If you are so concerned about TMC ClearChannel, I can try to patch the Asus's R700t executable to work with generic data.zip and you can use that on your PDA/PNA device. 8)
However, it's still gonna be R1 8)

I am not aware of any R3 releases at the moment to include CC decrypting routines+keys, but if I see one, I will take care of it in order to make American users happy ;)

myndwire wrote:if we're going through and making sure EVERY license works, make sure TMC in the USA works too ;)

Ppl you don't understand! TMC Clear-Channel USA does not depend on the license or the activation key you enter into your navigation software, but the presence of the signal descrambling routine with the correct deciphering keys (not to be confused with activation keys!!!) CA-TMC (no-key) means either iGO does not have a valid deciphering key or the descrambling routine is simply not present in the executable. The TMC license and the activation keys you are all talking about is just for enabling the software to display traffic events on the TMC info page nothing else.
Let me give you an example: Supposedly you own an iGO release that has these routines incorporated with the correct deciphering keys (ASUS Go release for North America is an example) but you don't have TMC enabled license. The software will still tune to CC channel and will decode the signal, you will se CA-TMC(key-OK), but you will have no actual traffic info shown up on your TMC info page ... and that's it! Hope this time you understand folkz 8)

JM's last paragraph seems most important. Could I be missing a "TMC enabled license", and if so, could it come from the old ASUS Go release?

I've also read that the RDS-TMC messages are slightly different in North America (RBDS-TMC), perhaps using slightly different message type numbers. Could that be the problem?

I'm wondering if there have been any further developments in getting TMC in North America ? Anyone figured out how to get a free license?

It gets about 3-6 satellites in red-orange, then 5 minutes they all get green...

Try to add this on the SYS.txt file

[gps]
port = 4
baud = 57600
internal = 1

Make sure you change the port and baud rate from the device.

I found it is quicker for me, I hope it works the same for you. Good luck

Hi, on my unit it is not those ports. Anyway tried it still not helped. Takes about 5min to get fix. I am trying to replace GPS_XTRA.exe with one provided on internet, but cannot delete or overwrite file. Tried with a gpsdriver, seems to help a bit, 4min instead of 5min! ! !

if any idea please let me know!

Hi Guys,
i copied the latest version v8.3.4.117940 (Nov 3 2009) to my pda (640x480 resolution).
It works but i have only landscape view.
What shoud i change to have vertical view?

If go to settings -> device -> screen orientation and change there to veritcal, application will restart but it's still landscape (horizontal)
Any idea?
