Perhaps someone who knows where it is will come along and point you to it.

Thanks Bazzle. Giving it a try now but battery low so recharging so nothing weird happens. Let you know how we go. If this works, I';; write you into my will :lol:

OK - wouldn't work at first. I then went into CE6.0 system, power and changed battery power settings to power down in 1 minute. Added your line into interface and restarted. It worked. Went back in to check CE6 power settings again and they had reverted to 'never". Hmmm?? Changed your line shutdown_time=10 for 10 seconds to give option to cancel and bingo -still works. What happened ..... I have no idea but we're good. Ya da man. Thanks heaps for your help Bazzle.

Hey Bazzle or anyone: Having solved the above auto shutdown when ignition is turned off; is there a sys line for interface that will start up system when ignition is turned on? Like: startup_time=1 ?

That´s impossible because the iGO8 is sleeping. But this could be implemented in the firmware for the PNA.

Hey Kribe - thnx for the info. I have a chinese unit so how do I actually get into the "firmware" and what would need changing? I know how to access the CE6 system on the GPS unit and get to some files & control panel, but also can't read it via USB to my laptop or PC cos of some driver/connection problem? This is not life-saving stuff, but it would be nice to have it perform how I want it to! Ta.

To make the PNA to start when external power is applied there must be som function implemented in the hardware. I don´t think that this can be set in the OS. Compare to the LED that is showing that charging is going on.

PROBLEM WITH IGO8:

Hi searched couple threads with no luck.
When I do a search ex: POI, Near GPS, Type in ESSO, then select good Esso, shows me address, phone number is any, then click next or select... Then on the screen where it asks to set as destination and you see a mini map, often it shows another destination! try with 3 different versions of Igo same problem.... Any hint?

When I am moving, it is worse... once I had to try it about 18 times for same destination until it kepts it ok!

Igo8 used to always show street's names written on the streets themselves on the map. Now I only get to see a couple streets; shown by a speech bubble type of thing only for major streets. They used to be written on the streets so I could see every street while navigating. How do I get this back?

Add to sys.txt:

[3d_config]
disable_roadsign_navigation_mode=1

Here is quick video showing my problem. It was taken with cell phone while driving, so not super quality but you can see the problem that when I select POI it changes it itself!
I tried different POI files, same issue!

Can someone give me an answer to a simple question please?

Are the Freeway/ Motorway signs removed from the Navteq maps? or do I have a problem with my unit, the TeleAtlas had them working fine, the only thing I can think of is that you lose them in place of the "Alerts" in Navteq

Navteq doesn't have as manu motorway sings as TeleAtlas, that is known problem. I don't think they removed signs...
