Damm... This latest version still has the same problem than the previous versions had regarding custom poi icons... It returns the error:

Failed to open file: Banco_ATM.spr
exiting application

Since I've bought my Touch HD that I'm having this problem... I can't had my own poi icons because iGO crashes

Already tried several Branding.zip anda data.zip files, but the error seems to be at the .spr file that accompanys the .bmp file and at the WVGA resolution

I succeded to make working this prog on my Evolio E-205 but after several seconds, I got this message - "Shuting down in 10, 9, 8 seconds". After that the software didn't shutting down, but the message above repeats forever. What should I do ?

I have really a strange problem. Everytime i try to type an adres the letter "Aa" keeps coming up and i can't stop it, like igo is typing the letter aaaa continues. Anybody has the same issue with this new build version??

Sometimes similar problems to that are solved by replacing the "Data.zip" file in your "iGO8" folder.
Most recommended is LZF Data.zip.

I did put the LZF data in my diamond with the igo_pda in sys.txt, but still i get the same problem..

I had same problem with Aa on my diamond after putting cooked ROM (i figured that igo keeps pressing that key to keep backlight on, because when i put igo on device settings Aa isn't an issue so only in always on power settings).... so i solved my problem by adding this in my sys.txt. Wich of these setting is preventing Aa to setting off i don't know but it works...... hope it will work for you.....

show_guidance_arrows=0

Nothing happened, this release makes a huge arrow on my gadget, much bigger than any other rel.
Any idea? THX!

My current car cursor (default arrow) if three times the size of the one in 8.3.2.93112.

Any ideas?

I've put this string into the sys.txt:

show_guidance_arrows=0

Take the card out of your device.
On your Device go to Start/Programmes and select Uninstall Nav N Go iGO8.
Insert Card and re-install.
The sys.txt should then be the same on your device and Card.

Or simply copy the sys.txt from your card's iGO8 folder to your Program Files/iGO8 folder and overwrite it.

Add these lines to your "sys.txt" (both of them):

You can also change the numbers to make your car cursor as big or as small as you want.

I too am having this issue, as are a number of other users on other forums....
I have a custom script to create my POIs, works fine on the Diamond, fails on the HD.

So far, I've been putting a 32x32 set of icons in 'common' and a 64x64 set of icons in the VGA\common folder (branding.zip) Now they fail with the same error you describe.

I KNOW the SPR format is valid, because I'm using the exact same configuration in the Diamond successfully, SO... I conclude that there is is some issue finding the SPR file itself from the 'icons' file. So... this would SEEM like it's NOT looking in common or VGA\common any longer... but somewhere else. e.g it's reading the my customicons.icons file, discovering an entry for 'Shell Petrol.bmp / Shell Petrol.spr' then failing to LOAD the SPR because it can't find it.

Does anybody know where in the Branding.zip file custom icons can go for the Touch HD?

(I tried both the 640_800 and 800_640 folders.... same negative result)

Oke i solved the problem, it was caused by a custom ROM. When i installed a new ROM it was solved. Sorry for the convienced.

Does someone else has trouble with TTS and build from 3rd july ? Actually i only replaced (and renamed) igo8.exe and TTS is not working anymore.
I switched back to 8th june's one and TTS is back and working ....

Any clue ?

NOTE 2: NNG has removed TTS support from all PDA R3 releases because of compatibility issues, meaning TTS does not work with this or any other release in this thread
