You do not have TTS, you just have voice

TTS is a more advanced version of voice....

Voice = "Turn left onto highway"
TTS = "Turn left on to Elm Street, then turn right onto Nightmare Road" (street names are SPOKEN)

Does anybody know where in the Branding.zip file custom icons can go for the Touch HD?

(I tried both the 640_800 and 800_640 folders.... same negative result)

Use 240x400 - 400x240 res. and voila, everything works properly.

To use this res., add these lines to your sys.txt (on your device, \Program files\iGO8\):

I'm reluctant to have to use 'upscaled' UI, but if this is the only way, so be it.

Alternatively I might have to modify the original mapclose.bmp within data.zip, but this would be a last resort.

It feels like this situation is a bug... hopefully it can be corrected in the near future!

Anyway, nice to have an update on this!

This is the first version who is NOT working on my Mio 268. It works very slow and when i switch-off my mio 268 and turn it on again to resume navigation i see the screen but the screen freezes and no navigation. Any suggestion here?

Does someone else has trouble with TTS and build from 3rd july ? Actually i only replaced (and renamed) igo8.exe and TTS is not working anymore.
I switched back to 8th june's one and TTS is back and working ....

Any clue ?

NOTE 2: NNG has removed TTS support from all PDA R3 releases because of compatibility issues, meaning TTS does not work with this or any other release in this thread

I installed the newest release on the Diamond2, but whenever I launch the program it changes the timezone of the phone! I tried unchecking all boxes in the time screen, setting it as my own timezone, and even editing the sys.txt file (I only have one, on my SD card. Nothing in program files because it doesn't install the program).
Please help

worked perfectly on diamond2 but now i installed a tts file. yes i know, no support, but couldnt resist. and now i have the "Aa" problem. reinstalled igo but the problem stays and i cant find the solution, sorry.

Totally Noob question -
Device HTC Touch
Installed R3 July 13, loaded some map content (Canada8.3TA_2008.10_081210.fbl) into %/Content/Map
Installed (iGO8_R3_TTS_EnglishUS.rar) into \iGO8
When I reun the program, I get the following error:

Fatal Error --> Initialization error: no language files were found

(I have deleted the \2577 folder and renamed the application.dat file to iGO8.exe)

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Okay...I got past the language problem, now I am not getting a sat signal? On Manual GPS Configuration, it is saying "GPS driver hasn't been found!" Yet I am running GoogleMaps with GPS on it.

ok problem solved. the backlight config like in post 870 solved it.
