Here is a hint for POIs with icons of your own and the new data.zip from this thread:

If you want to change the icons of your imported POIs (in *.kml format),
then you have to delete in the data.zip the file \ui_igo8\icons\poi\kmlpoi.icon, because
if one changes the POI icons in the POI management, on the map there is always the
default globe for your imported POIs!
It took me one afternoon to find this out .....

And I'm still looking for a TTS solution, not running on a Myguide 6500 XL. I tried every hint from
this and other forums, but nothing happens. Maybe the reason is a lack of memory, the 6500 XL
only has 64 MB?

And sorry for that english, german noob is writing :?

How did you do that.

I mean change the next street name size without altering the current street name font?

Open your DATA.ZIP, edit the file ui_igo8\common\ui\start.ui and modify

else_run 'run sc_GoToStartState'
to
else_run 'STATE st_NavigateMap'

- In template_???_???.ui (where ???_??? is your screen resolution) copy the line <TEMPLATE txt_map.................
- Then insert/paste this right after <TEMPLATE txt_map............
- rename txt_map in this new line you just added to txt_map2. this will be your txt_map template for your next street name.
- example of my templates_240_320.ui txt_map2 line;
<TEMPLATE txt_map2 x=5 y=0 h=20 w=230 align="CENTER" valign="CENTER" fontsize=18 font="tahomabd" color=#FFFC17 color2=#000000 color3=#000000 glowsize=1>; nextstreet (mas y-nal), stb

now on your navigatemap_???_???.ui, search for NextStreetName or next_street_enc. Look for those lines where you see a string "template=txt_map". Rename txt_map to txt_map2. Do this to every line where you see NextStreetName or next_street_enc.
There you go. It's not that complicated as it may seem.

Here's an example on my navigatemap_240_320.ui.

<ROADSHIELDEDTEXT sprNMCPINextStreetName template=txt_map2 textmodel_wstr="navigation.next_street_enc" visiblemodel="!ui.bLaneinfoSignpostValid|!map.follow|ui.vPresetOn">

<ROADSHIELDEDTEXT sprNMINextStreetName template=txt_map2 textmodel_wstr="navigation.next_street_enc" visiblemodel="!ui.bLaneinfoSignpostValid|!map.follow|ui.vPresetOn">

gps4blackjack wrote:Suggestion/question for LZF/JetMouse: wouldn't it be possible to use high resolutions (like 640_480 or 800_480) as VGA versions of their half-resolutions (320_240, 400_240)? I'm not even sure all the bitmaps in these high resolutions (like diriconbig800_000.bmp) are ever even used (in this example, the diriconbig_000.bmp in vga/common is just as good).
So, for example, in your data.zip, instead of ui_igo8/800_480, have ui_igo8/vga/400_240, and set resolution_dir=400_240, vga=1 and highres=1 in sys.txt?
That would make iGo use the high resolution standard stuff (menu, keyboard, etc) from the vga directory, and scale the fonts and POI icons (which now are small in high resolutions) appropriately. It would also let skinners make only half-resolution skin scripts, and supply some bitmaps in their own vga folder... It would also limit the use of my iGoSkinWizard viewtopic.php?f=46&t=55635 to true resizing of skins, not doubling the resolution of an existing skin.
I tried this with the current data.zip on an iPaq 310 (by copying 800_480 to vga/400_240 in data.zip), and it seems to work ok (high resolution menu, etc. working in 400_240), except for some quirks: bottom buttons not showing properly, exit/minimize/cancel buttons overlapping, etc.

Just wondering if it would be possible to use the larger scale graphics to get a better resolution on my 320 x 240 device. Am I barking up the wrong tree here? Will try what you've done there and see ;)

Added v9c to the main post, some nice looking backgrounds added to all resolutions. I know it's not for the diehard freaks who want everything standard, that's why I also keep 9b available which is a bit smaller. I just was tired of the standard skins ;)

I'm also giving a bonus of 100 WRZ$ to the one who creates a proper working VGA set (640x480 and 480x640) from my data.zip v9. ;)

My HTC Diamond will be very happy for this!

Hi all!
I've install iGO and read all the instructions, but when I start the application, return me this error:

Failed to open file:
igo\240_400\loading.bmp
exiting application.

What is the problem? How can I do to resolve it?

Greetings
