IGo My Way v8.4.3.179971
Requirements: Android HVGA Resolution
Overview: As you know, the new cracked version for IGo Android (8.4.3.179971) doesn't work on phones with HVGA resolution (480x320) like HTC Hero, Magic... Also, it was impossible to install in phones with less than a hundred megabytes of memory free, due to the great size of the file. I have optimized and adapted this file for non last generation phones with HVGA. And it works on non rooted phones. It is based on the 'My amigo' skin by mmarz with some improvements.
Please, ask me about any questions or errors you notice.

More Info:
Download Instructions:
New version 1.2.
1. Copy the 'Igo folder' on the SD card.

I'm not complaining, but you pretty much just took my release and inserted your name into it:

I did just that. Load your version, and you did change things. I didn't mean to imply that you took my apk. I did recently upload that. The problem with the voice menu I fixed a few days ago. That's great that you are developing this.
Here are some things I noticed, with the menu and driving/route info in the main navigation page, you shifted them down in portrait mode. That looks right, until you turn on "show current address" or "show dest or via address" as you approach them. Also, the alignment is off on the text between the transparent and non-transparent layers when the info menu is left expanded.
Also I added a line to the shutdown when arriving at destination code. The way you have it now, when a route is recalculated, the route distance is 0, and so it will being the shutoff sequence.
With my apk, what doesn't work?
I'm glad there is another person that appreciates this skin....I have to ask...Are you freddysam?...The Creator? You can PM me if you are.

I didn't realize that

Hum, it happens only with no route, when you select any route it appears well, isn't it? I'll try to fix it.

It's a good idea. I always had this option off. I'll look it (and after I supposed I'll ask you for you solution
Thank you for all your comments
I edited my previous post, I reset my phone and the navigation works perfectlyWith my apk, what doesn't work?
I like this skin cause is simple for our little pdas, showing most of the navigation screen. And no, I'm not freddysamI'm glad there is another person that appreciates this skin....I have to ask...Are you freddysam?...The Creator? You can PM me if you are.

All that sound good. You have more patience than I do. I was going to move down the menu and info, but it is a pain in the butt. And yeah, you're left with the problem of where to put the address and destination info. You have to remember that some like to leave the info panel expanded, like me
.
You may be interested in this, and you've probably already seen it posted on XDA. It would be great if someone finished off the 480x800 version of this skin. You could even take the official 480x800 that is out now, replace the common scripts with the ones in the XDA 480x800 release. Then edit the android ui files to add the my amigo portions that are missing. Lastly, drag over any of the images files that are missing. It'll take someone with a lot of patience to finish this

Hi!
It seems that the order of the letters on the keyboard are messed up. I think only 6 letters are in a row, but you have 7 set...
Can you check it?
Also when I type in the name of a street on other versions I can click on the recommnded street name. In this version I have to go to list and choose the street there.
Thanks a lot!

New version 1.2 in the first post.
Fixed. I've put the address without box in the portrait mode.
Fixed.
Fixed. Default keyboard is qwerty for landscape and alphabetical for portrait mode.
I can do that in my phone with this version. When I type a character appears upside a recomended street name. I can click on this name or click in the left green box with a tick on it.

The app works fine on my Optimus One...thanks!
One problem though: I installed the TTS voice (Susan) from the other thread but although Loquendo is selected and I get Susan to read the demo (and the phrase from the .ini as in my PNA WinCE), it does NOT read street names on my phone.
Is it a limitation of this version you created?

No, I've not limited the tts use, it must work. I can't try this in my phone because I have android 2.1 and loquendo and svox don't work well in this version (what android version do you have?). I've test the default android 2.1 tts engine (pico tts) with Susan tts voice in my version of IGo and it reads the name of streets (but poor and slow robotic voice :S). Have you try your tts engine with other programs like talk-to-me or similar? If it doesn't work then is a failure of the tts engine on android and not due to Igo version. Tell me about your progress.
leorimkus wrote:On previous iGo version this skin replaced system radar alert with its own sound. In 179971 system alert is left - very annoying! Is it possible to fix that?
You can change the sound if you want. Activate the warning in 'settings>sound and warnings>red light camera warning' and then 'settings>advanced settings>red light camera warning>ding warning' and choose the sound that you prefer.

No, You did not understand. The sound that I choose is played in the beginning, but after that system standard alerts are played until the camera is passed - what I really hate. If I press the radar icon - system alerts stop (this is fixed from the previous version of the skin), but I would like not to hear system radar alerts at all - just the sound that I have chosen. That would be a great improvement.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have Android 2.2.1 on it (not rooted yet) and I installed the Loquendo apk from this forum (other thread). It comes with a demo paragraph that Susan reads out just fine.
Also, I put in the loq voice file (looks like it's modded by keiwo) and it reads the demo phrase from the ini file fine.
Yet, in simulation I only get left/right turn indications (will have to test some more because it looks to me I'm not even getting the distance b4 the turns).
Thanks for looking into this...it's not a biggie since I have a car GPS and the phone would be for emergencies and/or pedestrian orientation (I hate buying city maps).

OK...so I took it for a test drive and it actually reads out SOME street names. I have iGO on a Mio GPS and I can compare...the Android version is way less street names.
It might need a lexicon (I'll try and copy one of my old modded ones). Or it simply tries to overcome the lack of CPU power (hmmm...much more then the GPS anyways) by reading less often.

Guys...need help!!!
Having nothing better to do I uninstalled iGO thinking that between this and Loquendo (which I installed later) there must be some problem.
Afer cleaning cache and data I am now UNABLE to run it as before...I get a crash half-way through loading the app.
Now I know on WinCE this is most of the time a bad data or speedcams or a skin...usually deleting the save folder fixes it.
Here I don't even have root to do some clanup (the app was installed in memory not SD obviously).
Any ideas welcome (if possible I'd rather not root the phone yet).
