Hi guys,

A bit help here, i'm trying to install this in Desire, but with no luck :(
I've used both .apk files that were uploaded in this topic but same error message all the time.
It says "MOTONAV could not be shown, release some space on your phone and try again"
Any help would be appreciated.

Do exactly what it says: free some internal memory of the device by uninstalling unwanted applications and try again.

Thanks so much!

slaman and other I posted TWICE the instructions on how to do it. If you just read through this thread you will find all you need, less how to actually root your 2.1 which is a different subject.

Hi,

Can anyone tell me why i get this "MOTONAV could not be shown, release some space on your phone and try again" error message when i try to install this on my Desire, non rooted device?
I have over 40mb free space... and i've tried everything, restarted the device, htc sync, but cannot go beyond that error message.

it's simple...be sure that you have at least 60-70 mb of your desire, and it will work without problems. To be 100% sure, you can hard reset your device, and the first thing that you install on it, to be motonav.

Also, this is another mirror - 4shared. - you have in that archive 2 files (one for desire, and one for 320x240 resolution). you need only the desire one.

Sorry, just noticed that i posted this on the wrong thread earlier

Am I being stupid, or is there no way to pre-plan a route on this software?

For example, if I am sat at work today and I am making a trip next week between two differnent cities (i.e. not the one I am in now) can I 'plan' this route now and see how long it will take and which directions it recommends?

This feature is in tomtom, garmin, copilot, google maps etc, but I can't find it in motonav

I'm using the .apk for the desire posted in this thread btw

yes, you can go to destination, select your town, street, no, etc, and press "Route To" and it will be calculated all your info's: how much it will take until your destination, how many km are; there is "more options" where you can set route alternatives, or places around destination; also there is route settings, etc.

Thank you for your help, but I think you have misunderstood me there. All that does is to generate a route from a place where you currently are to a destination. That is not the feature that I am looking for.

Perhaps if I offer an example;

You are currently in Buenos Aires but next week you are making a trip between Cordoba and Mendoza, can you get Motonav to work out the best route between these locations so you can see how long it will take? I can't find this feature anywhere and it is a standard feature in any other sat nav program.

You can set the starting position of a route to a specific location instead of your current GPS location at:
Menu->More->Starting Position
GPS will be disabled while you're doing this. When you're done, you can enable GPS again with a special button on the map-screen.

Hope that helps..
