In the previous version, the street that I use for checking accuracy did not appear as a full street (because it's new, and therefore possibly appeared as an unpaved road), but the buildings in that street certainly appeared.
And now the street is fully shown on the map, but no buildings.

metosim,

but the building files haven't changed - no new building files were released (at least not here), so the change cannot possibly be in the building files...

as for me, i have no problem with the "old" building files (3dc or 3dl) with the new map; everything that was there before (at least as far as i can tell) still seems to be there now - and in addition, i've got nice gas stations with the new israel_petrol.3dl file that was released with the 8.3.2 map...

Igal27,

I've made no changes at all to my installation, except replace the 2 files supplied above.
I stand by my previous claim.

Also, could you please post a link to the gas stations file that you mention?

Thanks.

metosim,

i'm not disputing the fact that you don't see the buildings - all i'm saying is that it can't be the building file that has changed, since there IS no new building file, so you must be using the same file as before (and unless you've done something to it, it couldn't have changed). maybe something has changed in the map so that it only displays buildings (or doesn't display them) under certain conditions, but they ARE still in your building file (just use the file again with the old version and you'll see that they're still there)...

as for the gas station file (israel_petrol.3dl), it was included in the file containing the 8.3 version of the israel map (2008.06) - see post #221 (p. 15) of this thread. it would appear all the building files are interchangeable between versions (unlike the maps).

- Under program language I only have English UK or English US.
So I cannot change my interface language to Hebrew.
And I really prefer to have interface in English and Israel map in Hebrew, how can this be done?

Thanks!

babakama,

as i answered madpriest, you don't have a choice of the language of the map/street names - it is dependent upon the language of the interface. if the interface is in english, the street names are in english. if the interface is in hebrew (or russian, as it turns out), the street names are in hebrew. there's no changing that, you have to choose which map language you want by choosing the corresponding interface language.

as for the hebrew language and voice, if you want them you can get them here:

Hi All,

I came across a stange situation.

If you take prev version with prev 3d buildings and you look top down, you see that the buildings are well positioned on both sides of the roads.
In the new 3d files (with older and new map) there seems to be a slight shift which makes it in some cases as if the buildings are on the road itself.

Strange...

What new 3D files? We are all using the files from v 1.2008 . Do you have newer files?

Sorry, my mistake.
It is indeed the 2008.01 3d files

with old maps all is ok
with new maps - shift of buildings in some places as mentioned before.

It may be that roads coordinates have been movved slghtly in new maps

1) to sign up to receive a regularly updated speedcam file, see: http://www.pocket.co.il/community/showthread.php?t=210834

2) no, no one (here at least) has updated building files; the old ones are quite complete though

3) yes, you can install the most recent build of version 8.0, which is currently 8.0.0.55127; see here: http://forum.ppcwarez.org/viewtopic.php?f=255&t=48629&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

yes, i also noticed a very slight displacement (buildings seem to have moved a couple of meters west/north-west in relation to the map, as compared to how they appeared in previous versions of the map and where they should be). however, the little dot that shows where the satellites think i am at any given moment also seems to be more accurately placed on the right point on the street with the new map versions, so i think maybe the OLD maps were very slightly displaced/shifted as compared to reality, and that this has been adjusted in the new map. if this is indeed the case, the building files we are using now were created for the older (slightly displaced) maps, so now that the maps are more "accurate", the buildings will consequently be off a little. hopefully in one of the upcoming versions they'll shift the buildings over the same way they shifted the new map over.

does anybody know what the "XX/50" means that appears next to a street name (at the bottom of the screen) in 3D navigation view? (where XX is some number - e.g. 15/50 or 20/50). for example, in tel aviv, 4 Dafna St. will show as "4 14/50 Dafna". it does the same if the interface/map is set to hebrew. as far as i can tell, it does this for every address... any ideas?

I don't have this. Must be skin related.

i'm not using any skin. using 8.0.0.55127 with the latest israel map (2008.10)... are you using a skin?

Edit: i just figured it out, it was something in the sys.txt file - i narrowed it down to the following entry:

[debug]
show_speed_limit=1

so apparently, the "50" was the speed limit on the street in question (i have no idea what the other number was - it changed depending on where you were on any given street...). it did this only in 8.0.0; with this same entry in sys.txt for 8.3.1 or 8.3.2, it did not add these numbers to the address.
