Thanks lgal 27, i will try it, even though it is a bit strange. I am in Europe working with the 8.3.2 in the last 2 weeks with no problems in real navigation and in simulation mode. Only the Israeli map is not working well for me (I used it only in simulation mode so far). In long trips it crashes. Is there anything special about the map of Israel ?

the only thing i can think of/guess is that there are many more buildings/landmarks for israel than for the european maps (look at the size of the israel 3dc file...). maybe it's just too many landmarks in a given area to draw when you have a device with limited memory. it is strange though, since i didn't have this problem with 8.0. in any case, for me, turning off landmarks solved the problem. perhaps the problem will be "officially" solved by NNG when they release a version of 8.3 for PDAs (for now, this is a cracked version of the PNA version of 8.3 - the only official one released by NNG to date).

if you're just using it off the SD card, just copy all the files onto your SD card and start it up... you can even keep both versions (or more - i have 8.3.2, 8.3.1, and 8.0.0 all on the SD card) and start up whichever one you want. just make sure you copy over all your data files (maps, pois, buildings, favorites, etc).

It happend to me as well and I found out that it is probably because of the skin. I am using Gurjon skins and some of the versions apperantly cause the crash. Try to chang the skin or try without it and see what happen.

Thanks Zvika, And Igal27.
Actually using the default skin did not help, but I did try to disable the landmarks – as Igal27 suggested in post #324 and it helped. The only problem I have now is that only in the Israeli map, I do not see the road signs and the lanes which work perfectly in the European maps.

that's because there's no lane info in the israeli map...

the "official" 64873 release is PNA only; [k]'d by JM to work with PDA. the official 8.3 for PDA will only be released by NNG in Q1 2009.

yes, sorry, i didn't mean to imply that it didn't - i'm also using it on PDA, but it's only thanks to JM's work that that is possible, as it's a PNA version. that means there can be bugs when using it on a PDA that isn't officially supported in the software. i personally get out of memory errors when landmarks are enabled, but that's the only problem (so i just disable landmarks...)
