Does anyone have the IGO More (Igo 2006 next version)
here is description:

What do you need it for ?

It is just a stripped version of iGO8 without the buildings layer, which can be easily disabled in iGO8. You'll get the same effect.

If you like the simpler interface, though it can be done with a skin, you may be more interested in the brand new iGO Amigo.

Speaking on unique versions of iGO8 that we need to get our hands on:

  1. iGO8-Judaism (יהדות-iGO8) 's wider range of features was just released. Read more about it HERE. It will be very cool if we'll have this.

  2. Can someone get his hands on the POI database for iGO8-FUN ?

Well I have ASUS P750 PDA
After soft reset I have only 23-24 M free
IGO 8 "eats" most of my memory (3M left when Igo8 runs)
I had problems using IGO8 on my PDA phone(when other applications runs in background) - so I have now Igo 2006 Plus
I thougt maybe the " Igo 7 More " will "eat" less memory - and would be better for my pda..
That's why I wanted it....
Are you saying I can use Igo8 - disable some features and gain some memory?
If yes can you refer me to manual how to do so?

Thnx!!!

The easiest way would be not having any file in your "content\building" folder in the first place (i.e. no 3D buildings (*.3dc), 3D landmarks (*.3dl) and small 3D gas stations models (*.3dl)).
If iGO runs fine, I suggest you try the light version of 3D landmarks for Israel, since it makes the navigation experience much better. See HERE for details.

If you don't need speedcam warnings, you can save even more memory by leaving your "content\speedcam" folder empty.

Also, you can try and reduce the amount of details on the map through "Settings -> Map Screen -> 3D Settings".

Hello all,
I have installed the R3 version on my ipaq 210 (version 8.3.2.71348) which was so kindly provided in a single link from mrbigd. Enclosed is the Israel map 2008.10 081107. Thereafter a fixed map (see theagent019) was shown which was produce feb 19, 09 (though I realize that it is not a *new* map). My question is this: has anyone tried to the fixed map? What is it supposed to have fixed? did it indeed fix what it was intended to fix?

Thanks for your experiences and opinions

You are correct - The maps are identical.
The map and its fix details are found HERE.

VirtuOZ - thanks for you quick response. I will try the "fixed" map though since I just installed the R3, I am not sure if I will notice anything. Thanks again.

@igal27,
I have updated my IGO8 to version 8.3.2.80621 but I still want to keep my QWERTY Hebrew Keyboard. I understand that I have to change something in the new DATA.ZIP file. How do I do it?
Thanks, Zvika

download the instructions here:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GQXC38OC

basically, you need to make changes in 3 files in your data.zip - all explained in the text file you can download from the link above. you can follow this procedure for any data.zip you use.

please note that this is a very slightly modified version of the instructions i posted earlier in this thread, because i found a small (but significant) bug - with the previous instructions, once you switched to the hebrew keyboard, there was no way of switching back to the english (or other) keyboard... i found the problem and fixed it in these revised instructions.

i also recommend deleting all the ui resolutions that you don't need for your device. i left only 240x320 and 320x240 and deleted all the others (including the vga folder), and that reduced my data.zip from ~30 MB to ~5 MB.

Igal27, I did exactly as you have written but it does not work with the data.zip file of the new version.
