Q4 Navteq should be better, maybe with Pois from Teleatlas.

Ok Guys, :o

I'm a newbie to all of this and would like to ask for some help please. So here IT goes!!?

1) I get an error message..."no maps found"...I put the DL map in IGO 8.3 map file. So why isn't it not recognizing that?

2)So theeeen after attempting to install Arkansas map in the map file, I ran into another problem when I tried to start my initializing for the GPS...it gave a message ERROR: Out of Memory. Requested:1255832732 & cache: 132??

3) I am not quite sure what map i need to DL...I would like to get a map coverage for the entire USA contenent...but will settle to start with Texas, Arkansas, and surrounding south states of USA. Can some help me with this too??

FINALLY
, How do I correct or solve all of these problems?

Anyone!!!? lol

Also if it helps...I have HTC Touch Pro phone with WM6...

QUESTION: Will I not need a data pack (internet) to use this gps on my phone...I'm assuming not because it uses a map...RIGHT?

Thank you soooo much to whom ever can assist me with this problem...THANKS BIG!!! :D

hello,
i found this upon searching the forums under GPS requests:

"Navigon 5100 Q1 2009 North America (USA, CANADA, HAWAII) with MN 6.5 + RealityView + Lane Assist + Zagat + POI + TMC

Download Instructions: Extract to memory card. Pretty much it!
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QNYA4XZN "

...I tried the link, it works but I need to have a premium membership in order to access it since its over 1GB. I'm not sure if this is the actual 2009Q1 Maps, but I was wondering if someone who might have a premium membership for megaupload could check if they are the right maps. If they are, kindly post up the content back on this forum :)

Thanks, marvin

Thanks, Marvin, but I don't think Navigon maps are compatible with iGO (or are they? Anyone know? They seem to have .map extensions. Can they just be renamed to .fbl???)

Did anyone notice the compass pointing for East and West are the exact opposite? I use igo 8.3.1 with gurjon 6.6p skin, and the East and West directions are correct only when I use the rotating letters compass. Is there a fix out there for the correct display of compass pointing so that it will point East when East, West when West? Thanks. And I'll also be waiting for the latest NT 2008 Q4 or 2009.Q1 map for Canada.

All of us Canadians are patiently waiting!

But I saw somewhere else that someone was about to buy ONC8 and they suggested to him to hold off as new maps for Canada are about to be released in a few weeks. So maybe the wait will soon be over!

The compass arrow always point NORTH. Think about it ;)

It looks like TeleAtlas maps do not have Lane and Post info. But they have road elevation and it looks like they have correct speed limits(which Navteq do not have).

New map Added freeway/highway exit Signpost .

I am here in ca as well. I get some problems. maybe you can help

1. sometimes i get a bright exit sign with faded arrow on the freeway next to the bright sign with the bright arrow. it is confusing do you get that

2. sometimes i get a false exit sign (bright with bright arrow) but the voice says correctly the name of my exit??

3. I am using the 2008.10 iget blue sign post. how did you get yours to be green

thanks

Those signs aren't telling you to exit the highway, they're telling you which lane you need to be in.
Each arrow correspond to a lane, and you need to be in a lane that's represented on the bright signpost.

a bright sign post with no arrow on the right where there is an exit is meaningless?
a bright sign post with arrow at an exit next to a grayed out sign on the left says exit. but the voice says a different exit.

I am still confused

gone down south,
Thanks for the reminder... funny. I'm looking for a fix to correct the reversed display of direction of "East and West" of the compass. Anyone got a fix?

It's not a bug, it's intended to be that way. When you're heading west, north is to your right so that's where there compass arrow points. It might look like the arrow is pointing east, but it isn't.

Conversely, when you're heading east, north is on your left and the arrow points that way. It's been like that through every version of miomap and igo that I've used.
