I have a problem after unrar of the files. I get 3 errors:

map/USA_Minnesota.fbl - CRC failed
dem/UnitedStates.dem - CRC failed
map/USA_Washington.fbl - CRC failed

I've tried re-downloading the pieces but get the same problem...

I've heard that from a few others so if you scroll down the page there is Minnesota and Washington maps that you can dl and replace with. This is the first time i've heard about the dem file coming up corrupt.

One question - just curious: are the .dem files interchangeable from release to release? For example, if I have an older North_America.dem file from, say, 2008 Q1, is it compatible with 2008 Q4?

I want to say yes but not sure. I know you can interchange the poi's and other things so it should be possible.

I don't remember seeing any newer NA dem files for a long time.

What we're really waiting for is Navteq for Canada. I think there was a Teleatlas for 2008Q4 but I'm told that it has problems.

Yes teleAtlas maps 2008Q4 are problematic... Navteq is better for Canada.
