I don't see The ****.3dc files in the building folder. Can you upload those as well ?

These are as bad as the Q4 maps. A lot of roads in SC and GA just end before they connect to the next street. It makes no sense. These errors were not present in the Q2 2008 Navteq maps.... Anyone know why the last 2 sets of maps have all these road errors? I am kind of disappointed, but not sure if I should be disappointed at Navteq or at Nav-N-Go. It seems something isn't right.

You can compare Navigon or Garmin map with Nav-N-Go, since they all use Navteq's data. However, Navigon is much better than Nav-N-Go. So it is the problem of Nav-N-GO.

So are the teleatlas POI files still better to stick with or are these newer navteq ones any better?
Use Navteq maps and Teleatlas POI for north america?

I had been using the 'Teleatlas' poi files in combination with the Navteq poi files.
The only problem is that Navteq are more accurate in my area.
Also, using both causes allot of duplicates which is a problem!

However, I just discovered that the Navteq 2008Q2 maps also contained poi files
called 'Detailed Coverage Area', (DCA), named 'USA_DCA1.POI' to 'USA_DCA11.POI'.

Since those are Navteq poi files they do not cause any duplicates that I can see
and may be more accurate than TeleAtlas for certain areas.

---
Question: Are there any newer DCA poi files available for this new mapset 2009Q1?
I have only seen them in the 2008Q2 set, (maybe they were added manually).

!
!Edit: I had the map dates/quarter numbers wrong, fixed.

I have only seen them in the 2008Q4 set, (maybe they were added manually).

Where do you find those POI? Any link please?
I want to try it out.
Thanks

Why is the Navteq content so much smaller than the Teleatlas content? Is it that Teleatlas is better (the bigger file is better argument?) or that Navteq has better compression? Thanks for any help!

The TeleAtlas maps have bigger POIs.

teon,

Do a google search for 'USA_DCA1.poi' and you will likely find a torrent that contains them all.

All of the links are full map. I only need a USA_DCA1.poi (Cali) file to try out.
