#%$@,

Just returned from Slovenia, could have used the updated map (or maybe not, as the country is in a huge new roads effort, so this new map is very likely already obsolete...).
For example, the road between Ljubljana and Bled.

Hi,

My igo is saying that the basemap is RIP (outdated).
Does anyone have a new version of the basemap ?

Thanks,

Sobralito

Probably you've got problems with license.db file. There is no new basemap as far as I know - there is nothing new in countries borders.

I've downloaded the license in this post and the error is the same, but thanks anyway.

Sobralito, do you use the latest release of igo (Jun 18 2007)?

Ok I seen somewhere how to change the registry to make it so I can put my maps in a different place(card) and it can find the post now... anybody? I cant seem to find it again... Thanks $$

EDIT: Nevermind... found it

1. copy all the miomap files to youre SD card
2. enter the 2577 folder and rename the autorun from Miomap to autorun - miomap
3. copy all youre iGo 2006 SE files to youre SD card, if asked overwrite say yes
4. install miomap by clicking on the miomap icon on youre SD, after its done close the application
5. install iGo 2006 SE by clicking on the iGo 2006 SE icon on youre SD, after its done close the application
6. You need a program to get access into youre Regedits -> PHM Tools (freeware) http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/RegEdit/
7. Install and open that application (regedit)
8. go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Miomap -> Mapdir (scroll down to see this and click on it)
9. you see something like this \Storage Card\MioMap\maps (copy that line)
10. go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> iGo 2006 -> Mapdir (scroll down to see this and click on it)
11. past the \Storage Card\MioMap\maps in the MapDir

Can anyone comment on the 2007.7 North American maps?

I tested the new Canada map (2007.7) but I see no difference in my area - which is a new construction site. No new street names or streets compared to 2007.1
Can anyone tell what differences are there ...if any? I suppose the new one is still 12mil POIs (simply based on size)

Thanks

[EDIT] I noticed the street speeds are different in such a way that I get different routes for the same trip...longer trip duration with new maps and hence different routes chosen for the 4 options (Fastest/easy/econo/shortest). Weird and difficult to asses.

[EDIT2] I see now the highways have a speedlimit of 100 (2007.7)-which is correct in Canada- instead of 115 (2007.1). Regular streets are still incorrect (a street with 80 kmh limit shows as 50kmh). This surelly screwes up routing decisions.

newbie seeking help/troubleshooting.

I own a mio C520, running MioMap.exe v3.3 aus august release 17/08/07 with R38 firmware and US TTS voice.. (i know there's an R39 but haven't bothered yet).
When I download the maps from filefactory/megaupload etc and the demo licence.db I am trying to run it as a second copy of Miomap (straight from the SD card - c/o a modified stopword hack).
If I use the miomap33_272.rar cracked Miomap.exe (1/4/2007) I get FFUIERROR; code 8.
If I run the MM33qVGA cracked MioMap.exe (28/03/2007) I get FFUIerror < /layer expected etc...

Any ideas. I don't think it is an issue to do with the miomap.exe.id (but what is the error code for that anyway?) and I know the licence.db is fine (swapped it with my old one and I get hadrware Error).
I am guessing it is to do with the data.zip from the march cracked version being different to the august version. Is it possible for someone to point me in the right direction to grab a data.zip from that release... and would that work when the rest of my core files are from the august release?

p.s. I am running it from the SD card so I can keep the hadrware untouched by rebooting... I can't have it crash on me as I wouldn't want to explain it to Mio... The miomap sitting on the flash disk loads fine, but doesn't see the maps on the storage card.

Re: the 2007.7 maps....in my area of upstate NY all Teleatlas maps until this version had a problem with a 2 yr old road...at one point you would suddenly "fly" off the road into the woods for about a mile, then mysteriously pop back onto the road. The 2007.7 version fixed that error. A limited test, but I'm sticking with the new version based on it.

Maybe the calibration of the map-road coordinates with the actuall gps possition is not correct. It happens bij many maps. Nothing to do. Data fault in my opinion.

Re: 2007.7 North American maps
....I just went down to Boston using the Jan 07 map and was routed thru Kingston.etc. On the new map , for Toronto to Boston, it will route thru Buffalo, but if you ask it to re-route eastward thru Kingston, it will take you all the way to Montreal before going south. However if you insist ongoing south just past Kingston, (thru Watertown) , it will re-route you from Toronto to Montreal, down south and west back to I81 to Watertown. This is definately incorrect and as others have pointed out, a problem with this July update not playing nice with the nav software.
