When I try to copy the poi files to the storage card I get the following error messages:
The file "???" header is corrupt for USA maps file part06.rar and No files to extract for file part01.rar. I tried transfering the states' poi files individually to see if that would work but no go. Anyone else had this problem for the MIO 310x? Thanks!

Are you talking about the 2008.04 files? They worked fine for me on a C310x...maybe re-download?

just add both paths to your sys.txt file under [folders]:

[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"
app="My_Flashdisk/iGO8"

where "My_Flashdisk" is the name of your flashdisk, and if you've named the iGO8 folder differently, just change that also accordingly.

No, i think understand your Idea, You have (for example) 1Mb in your internal memory of your mio 230 and (from example here) your location is france (my example...)
Your INTERNAL memory is named (always from example) /My Flash Disk/ and your SD Card is named /Storage Card/
Your Igo8.3.xxx is into your folder /My Flash Disk/Igo8/(your igo8.exe is here your folder/Content/..etc
Copy Your France.Fbl (card here)
And All yours additionnal maps (ex all europe, usa....) in your SD named (internal default is) /Storage Card/
Just Create in your SD card one folder named /Igo8/ with into
your Folder /Content/ with /map/ /poi/ etc into...(exept /Speecam/ (this is your Internal Memory EXEPT is your want 2 SEPARATE (1 for France, 1 For all world)

Its good..
Now in your Sys.Txt (Comments for me in french)
[folders] ; Cette Partie doit etre dans le SYS.TXT
app="/My Flash Disk/Igo8" ; OU Internal MEMORY from yor PNA (Ex: Use the 1 Gb Internal from your MioC230), This is location from example of your DATA.ZIP

secondary_root="Igo8" ; Where is the Additionnal MAPS(Eu, Usa, Etc...) secondary_root="Igo8" AND NOT secondary_root="/Storage Card/Igo8" (Possible have Different NAME of FOLDER If YOU WANT in your SD (ex \Igo\ , Or \Igo8\ at your FULL CHOICE)

; WARNING WITH THIS OPTION
;sdcardpath="/My Flash Disk/Igo8" ; Where save your Backup (Force) (Folder '\Backup" . Defaut IS External (SDCard)). /!\ IF YOU USE OPTION secondary_root="Igo8", DON'T USE THIS OPTION !

save="/My Flash Disk/Igo8" ; Where you want SAVE your personnals choice (Settings, Poi, Favoris,...),The Folder /Save/

data="/My Flash Disk/Igo8" ; (Reverse)Ou Chercher Les Reglages dans le Dossier /Save/ , Gere les Routes (/tracks/, ....). NE PAS Specifier le Dossier /SAVE/

content="/My Flash Disk/Igo8/Content" ; Location in INTERNAL MEMORY from the maps, POI, Buidings, Speedcams,.... (Defaut=Same Location Of Igo.Exe....)

Ouuf, it's not short, but i search this in all internet, and 0 response at this subject, and i search and i give result to you

Pse (upgrade the Sys.txt full infos with this, for Igo 8.0 and 8.3 Sys)
Pse2 This others Options, i not VERIFY or understand his usage:
;sdcardapp="/My Flash Disk/Igo8" ; sdcardapp="Storage Card" Ou "My Flash Disk" ???
;exe="/Storage Card/Igo8/Igo8.exe" ; ????
;texture="/Internal Storage/igo8/content" ; No verify
;custom="/Internal Storage/igo8/custom" ; No Verify
;tts_nuance="/Flash Disk/TTS_PPC/SPEECH" ; složka pro vyladení TTS ???
;usb_kmlpoi="USB Disk/poi" ; cesta k POI na USB disku ; ????
;kmlpoi="userdata/poi" ; cesta k vlastním POI (formát KML) ; ????

Not working, iGO8 seems to take only one "app=" statement. But thanks for replying.

Thanks for the info. This works for using additional maps on SD. But now every start I have to accept the EULA Statement (before it is only one time for new installation). And now I can not change skin.

well, a trade-off, unless someone figures it out totally.

the eula shouldn't be a problem... just add the following in your sys.txt:

[debug]
skip_eula=1

oh, and make sure this is in the sys.txt in your internal memory (where the program igo.exe is installed), not just in the sys.txt on your sd card...

don't know about the skin changing. when you put skins in the skin folder, do they just not show up in the menu, or do you see them and can't change?

Ok, the EULA not showing with skip_eula=1. But it looks like IGO8 is not saving the setting on exit. So every start is the first start. Or it just doesn't know where to look for the saved setting. That is the reason I don't see new skin after picking new skin and restart.

my sys.txt (iGo 8.0.0.54)
[folders]
app="\MyFlashDisk\iGO8"
secondary_root="otherMaps"
save="\MyFlaskDisk\iGO8"
data="\MyFlaskDisk\iGO8"
content="\MyFlashDisk\iGO8\Content"

[interface]
maxzoom2d=6000000
show_exit=1

[navigation]
sim_speed_factor=8

[debug]
skip_eula=1

One question :
You're SURE of your system (ex WinCE 4.2, etc) named the internal Memory \MyFlashDisk\ and NOT \My Flash Disk\ (Spaces!)..

And:
If your settings NOT SAVE, i really think it's this! (Bug with Internal Folder system named, and after it NOT found your System.ini or one equal file with your parameters) BEFORE with my tryings i so have checked this bug (resolved) i'ts for this i prevous posting all settings for sys.txt

Mine is WCE 4.2 and in explorer the internal disk is called MyFlashDisk (or it won't find the application to begin with).

My other choice is to put the IGO8 software and the full maps on SD card and run it from there. I just have to maintain too copies of IGO8.

Curiously though, in the previous version of iGO (2006?) I can split map files between internal and SD card without changing anything in sys.txt.

what if you try

[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"

instead of

[folders]
app="\MyFlashDisk\iGO8"

i'm using the program directly off the SD card now, but even before when i had all the data on the SD card and the program installed in internal memory, i had the line above (i.e. app="%SDCARD%/iGO8") in my sys.txt. don't know what the logic here would be, but it can't hurt to try...
