In principle You are right, but I'm not a skin developer, I just only converted it to new resolution. So version number will change when skin's author release new version. There no needs to collect my different "releases", just enough to copy over old. No new features inside one version number, only founded bugs fixed.

First of all that's what minor (minor) version number are mainly for - bug fixes without new features.
Second, I haven't relized it was only your "unofficial" bug fixes / improvements to Gurjon's skin.
I though you were notifying us on new releases, since I saw that Gurjon has released at least 2 versions of his v5.9 skin:
****** 5.9 2009.01.10 ********

1. Second turn option (display according to distance) was added.

2. Cursor-car selection from library was added.
Library can be found in download section "cursor_cars.rar".
File needs to be extracted to iGO8/ folder. (it should be like iGO8/cars/*.bmp)

3. It's now possible to turn off GPS/battery indicator.
4. It's now possible to select larger speed camera icon.
5. Added menu buttons to the transparency setting.
6. New mini compass on POI was added. (Thanks dima8389).
7. Interface fixes. (Thanks JackD)
8. Various technical adjustments.

(2009.01.11)
1. Added spaces in place menu buttons names, specialy for translation.
2. Various technical adjustments.

I didn't even notice that, although I check from time to time. Good catch.

I like Gurjon's skin, it offers just the right amount of functionality for me. Kudos to him.
However, he does not offer the 800x480 version of his skins, probably because this resolution is not so common.

Arkoko's work is useful for me and some other enthusiasts, because he converts Gurjon's skins for himself and is kind enough to share the result with us. Kudos to him, too.

My secret wish is to get them talk to each other to make their skinning work easier and the skins even more beautiful and functional. Of course, this is only their hobby, so I am grateful for what they already did.

Please don't tell them my secret wish.

OK, men... relax :)
To be more specific, in my last post I meant "only founded my conversion bugs fixed".
I'll think about minor-minor numbering... with next gj official realease, because I believe that in current 5.9 no more visible conversion bugs remains ;)

It's not a mathematical number - It can have two or even more dots in it: v5.9.1, v5.9.2, v5.9.3, v5.9.4, ...

I just thought he could use the date of the release, like yymmdd, instead of keeping track of version numbers, if he doesn't want to.
I do this for my backups or docs/projects, since I'm too lazy to - well, keep track of version numbers. It's easy to sync two folders with multiple versions, or sort them by file name, if I have many of them in one folder.

I had to advertise a little, it's the least I can do. Beside bug reporting :)

After using the Dimka skins for a long time, I tried to use the Gurjon skins.
I am using an iPaq 314 with iGO8 8.3.2.64873.
Gurjon4.5 and Gurjon4.6 are functioning perfectly, but I am not able to get GJ5hp_800 or GJ5_800 to operate.
I cannot even see both GJ5_800 skins in the Skin menu.
Anybody can give me some advice?

regards Ben

Thank you Arkoko!

So there is no way to switch between GJ5 and Dimka from the Skin Menu?

It's true, because they runs in different resolution space. You should wait when dimka skin obtains 800x480 support too ;)
At this moment You can try

I use on my ASUS 639 Gurjon 5.10 skin and is very good. But I had to write in sys.txt the next lines, copied from dimka site, because I have only 64 MBytes of RAM, and I had a lot of "Out of memory" messages:

[debug]
no_file_cache=0
reserve_memory=1835008 ; from Dimka
cache=262144 ; from Dimka

No error messages since the sys.txt has been modified. Also the speed of drawing is increased.

I tested Arkoko's last mod of Gurjon's 5.9 skin on a 2x120km trip.
The speed camera alerts work, both in visual and sound.
I used an HP iPAQ 316.
