One of the newer builds you are refering to also?
Thanks!

Igo 8.3.2.73871 is a build specific for PDA's (like 64029) and does NOT support TTS.

Ah, thank you so much for the info. I was not aware of that. I had seen that tts wasn't working on it, but was under the impression that it was due to missing files. Thanks for straightening that out.
Is there a build you can recommend? I am still using the Sept 25, 8.3.1.57021.

Thanks again!

Based on my experience with using igo8.3.2, all builds of igo8.3.2 suffer from two (2) bugs:

1. Wake up bug - randomly restarts after coming out of standby.
2. Parking lot freeze - randomly freezes when coming out of a parking lot, or an area where there is no road on the map.

If you want to use igo 8.3.2 with a media player (music - mp3, wma, etc), use magellan update version 8.3.2.64084 in conjunction with 8.3.2 version data.zip that has oasis. Otherwise, just use the latest one - currently ver 79297. They are all the same (based on my use on Mio C320).

The build you are using - 57021 is still 8.3.1. The data.zip for 8.3.1 will not work with 8.3.2. The 8.3.1 builds 56007 and 53558 both have multimedia and do not suffer from the wake-up bug. However, they do exhibit the parking lot freeze.

Thanks you so much! I really appreciate your help, since each time I change versions of iGo, somehow it seems to take me hours to get it going proprly, lol.
Thanks again!

Re bug 2... The parking lot freeze. I live in Australia and regularly drive far enough off road for the cursor to move away from the actual road and i have NEVER had iGO 8.3.2.x freeze when returning to the road. It seems some maps have this issue and some do not.

This release is almost perfect!! The voices are loud and clear and Susan says onto rather than ontah!! It even tells me which side the destination is...sort of. When I'm facing East-West it's correct, when I'm facing North-South however it's backwards. Any way to fix? Funny thing is that the house numbers on the display are correct. Hopefully it's a voice thing.

My iGo is almost perfect!!

I'm using this version on Win CE 5.0: Nav N Go iGO 8 v8.3.2.64873

Try the other igo8 builds such as 64084,79297,70321 or 80621. I am personally using 64084 and 80621 and the destination side is always stated correctly so far.

They've been tested to run smoothly on my devices with 64MB of RAM, despite the recommended 128MB of RAM suggested by NNG and Loquendo, but there is no guarantee it will work on every device with 64MB or less RAM. Therefore I mentioned you "might" (and not "will") have memory problems.

It crushes in my GPS 64M "out of memory" error . Is there any solution for less memory consumption ??

Try using the older Low Quality TTS Voices.

They are compatible with both iGO8 R1 (v8.0.x.x) and iGO8 R3 (v8.3.x.x).

For example, instead of saying"arriving at your destination in 500m" , it say" arrrving at your destination on your Right or Left or Ahead in 500m". ? I am using Dave and Susan V1.74. Thanks

The newer igo8.3 builds(70118,64084,79297,70321) supports that (announcing side of destination) but the corresponding voice should also have the proper code (or is it script) for it. Please use any of the above builds in conjunction with the appropriate voice file.

Here is my US voices TTS pack for iGo8. It has TTS voices Susan and Dave. The TTS engine is from JetMouse iGo 8.3 Release in ppcwarez. so this is the high quality TTS engine. The voice files are based from ladude's TTS voices way back from the igo8 demo days. Using these TTS voices, you would always get the street name announcement no matter what (no more take the next left/right without announcing the street name). Also, with this TTS pack, route always pronounced as route (not RT). This pack works for both Igo8.0 and igo 8.3. Just uncompress into your PC and copy as is into your igo8 root folder (folder where you find ig08.exe). Remember to backup your files first just in case.

I downloaded your TTS and using it along with March 10 version of iGO on my ATT Tilt, it works really well. Thanks for the package. One more thing I needed to do apart from copying these files was to disable the today plugin and soft reset the phone before starting iGO8 to make sure there is 50+ MB free memory, it is a minor inconvenience not a big deal. Any time, there is less memeory TTS would not work on my device.

It also announces which side of the street the destination is, but when I go north/south the side is switched like some in this thread mentioned. kamoteka et al, is there a remedy for this issue?

Hope this helps some one wondering why is TTS not working in their ATT Tilt/TytnII/Kaiser.

It may be a bug of the executable or maybe wrong map data. In my case, I am using the 64084 build, and I am yet to experience a wrong side of destination announcement. I am also using NavTeq 2008Q2 North America maps.

Does anyone know how to get this TTS package for iGO8 R3, released by Jetmouse, to announce destination side? I've used kamoteka's package, which announces destination side, but the street name pronunciations are not as good compared to the R3 package released by JM.

Now Kletodatheif, You are a genius, thanks for the BEST TTS with igo8 WOW! its really great, this program even says my name before its says destination is on the right or left! I could not believe it. You said you only tested this on simulation!!! Are you paralysed from your knee down that you cant drive and check it for yourself. You need a reward for putting this little beauty up.
