Hi is there any tutorial on how to modify .lex files, at least the commands available.
I know there is \r, \x also some (xx|xx), \x\{(xxx)|(X)|(X.)\}, "\rdes([bcdfghjklmnpqrvwxz])" = "dé \1", "\r\{(est)|(E)|(E.)\}", etc...

A quick user guide would be nice!

Thanks!

I put together, what I believe is the best TTS pack for English US voices. They are the high quality voices with the corrected lex files and the voice file edited to announce which side of the street the destination is on etc.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OMMJL6YV
http://netload.in/dateiBaHM2gcqN1.htm

enjoy, and report any errors please.

I take no credit for any of this work, I just compiled and tested it.

Also, anyone notice any newer ver of the tts .dll's than the ones I used. I noticed across the 6+ iGO running PNAs I had there were a few with diff file sizes. I tried to keep the ones with the newest date modified.

EDIT: Unzip with 7zip, winrar mirrors coming below.

@ nFKT

I downloaded your file from 3 different places, none of them can be extracted. Get plenty of errors!

I packed with high compression & 7zip that might be why, I'll reupload.

EDIT: Unpacked fine with 7zip, packing with winrar now. Mirrors up in a bit.

EDIT2: winrar mirrors: (lemme know if there are any errors now, they unpacked fine on my end with winrar & 7zip)

You should be able to just replace his commands.csv file into mine. This is how he did it: viewtopic.php?p=303230#

it would take a while to do it by hand if it does not work :\

I liked the older US TTS voices in that they always say the street name no matter what. The newer IGO8 R3 TTS voices have better pronunciations, but they do not speak the street name if the next turn/maneuver is 300 yards or less. So I looked at both voice packages and checked how they differ. So I took the older US TTS voices and applied the pronunciation rules from the R3 voices and this is the result. In the process of coming up with these modified voices, I also discovered what makes Amigo stutter a lot, and what makes it somewhat apparently lose the GPS signal. It is when you make amigo perform a lookup on the TTS lex file. So if you use a zero-byte lex file, amigo runs flawlessly. Anyway, with this modified voice package, we do not really need the lex file because the pronunciation rules are all contained in the voice file (well not all really, but almost).

Here is my modified version of Igo8/Amigo TTS US voices (Susan and Dave):

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9M0B6PGR

I included here a version of the EnglishUS6.9.lex file which you should replace the one you have in the TTS_LOQ/EnglishUS folder. Please remember to save your old files so you can restore them back if needed (and yes, this version announces the side of the street of the destination).

@ kamoteka

Hi, very interesting you files. I am trying to make a good french canadian one, I would need some clarifications.

In this line:
/(?i)([\s,\.]r_art_s.*[\s,\.])ABEY(,*)(\.*)(\s+)(.*r_art_e[\s,\.])/-->"\1 ABBEY \2\4\5";ENGs_NQ

Could you explain me a bit more? I am used with the \x, and \r, but what about all the rest? If you could explain me the whole line when you get a chance I would rellay appreciate.

Thanks!
