vaampi wrote:What is the "BIG" different between iGO 8.3.2 and Amigo ?

The big difference is that this is already R4, iGO8 is still R3. Apart from the skin this will be the next version of iGO8.

OK maybe I'm asking a wrong way. I know this is R4 and what ?
What different does is make it is R4 ? I have all options on my R3 what iGO Amigo can give me.
Am I right ? So what a new or better future in Amigo more then is a R4 ?

There is at least one nice feature in amigo that u do not have in R3: u can preview all types of routes in the same moment on the map (miomap 2008 had it also, was very nice and useful)... just to give u an example I noticed...

I don't think there will be a iGo8 R4 release, because navngo already changed their site and added some info.

Code: Select allhttp://amigo.navngo.com/

Proven Engine

Built on the newest version of the engine which has already proven its abilities and reliability in iGO My way 2006 and iGO My way 8 navigation software platforms, iGO amigo differs from these in its construction and appearance.

Well I think is all about the money !
They are just fixed all problems what was in the 8.3.X series and made a new ( actually nice )
skin and here you go this is "Amigo" :)
It's all about the money ! we need different everything and we can buy it because
it's no way to get it other way. Like is still no USA and Canada R3 maps..:(
But all you guys who lucky enough to able to test it please let us know what nice future
we will find in Amigo.
Thanks

On NNG forum in Amigo platform section it was said:

Amigo is not A REPLACEMENT / NEW Generation of IGO8 PDA software.
This is a new standalone product family optimized to be distributed through OEM partners as pre-installed on PNA/PND devices. This SW is optimized to use less resources and has simplified UI with less functions but in some aspects it is more user-friendly.

Igo PDA family development will be continued in parallel.

No worry, I just made these pics as a prank towards NNG, most probably I will just remove all naviextras.com crap to get it as clean as possible.

So you ARE able to decrypt DATA.GRO???

First thanks to orka, but I didn't like this solution...
I was doing it once, but did not want to rely on the correct script to not end up without maps...

snowdog wrote:It is very simple!

I have tried this, and works!

You put this in the sys.txt:
[folders]
content="iGO8\content_NT\"
;content="iGO8\content_TA\"

To change map set you have to change the ";" sign before "content"!

Thanks for testing!

I knew, I read something about it, but never tested successfully - I will try this and only have to copy all other contents, which is okay for me!

Dear Twingo, as you can see from your screenshots, not all maps are from Tele Atlas, some (but not as many as for iGO 8.3) come from local suppliers (Montenegro - Contrast, Ukraine - Carte Blanche, Poland - Emapa). Tele Atlas maps are dated 090218, local suppliers - mostly 090310.

Is there also an automatic day/night switching built-in?
The skin seems to be very bright could be a problem at night.

Yes, day/night scheme is available, I only put it permanent on day scheme which I prefer for testing the app.

Here are some more screenshots.
