I was going through the exact same problems as you.

My problem was that i had cut a corner and did not make a new account every time.

You need to follow the manual to the letter and make a new account 2 times.

Dont use any account you used before at all, start off by making an account to download the 2.6.1 maps and when you get to downloading maps for 3.5.4 make another new account.

PS. If you (like me) have to install further phones (Girlfriend's f.ex) in the step where you download all maps, you can just download the smallest map (Andorra f.ex) and save some download time.

After you finish just copy the map files from the first phone you installed. There does not seem to be any serial coding inside the map files themselves, they seem generic.

This might change in the future though.

Yes I do, Worked on Desire on both Oxygen and GingerVillain Roms 2.3.3

What I meant was, has anyone installed Navigon from scratch on Gingerbread, not just updated the ROM and then updated the app.

It's impossible to launch the 2.x and 3.5.3 versions on Gingerbread to get through those steps.

You just need to do the steps like they are described on post 1!
And i already update to v3.5.4 from the market!
If you need any more guide, just say something!

Hi,

First of all, congrats for finally managing it :) are you on 2.2.1 also?

I tried once again now and it just refuses to work. I can´t understand why it resets EVERY time i quit navigon and why it requires WIFI to be on every time I start the app...its hopeless..

EDIT: Found this on market webpage, but i can´t find it on phone-market and I can´t remoteinstall it through the webpage so if someone can get me the .apk I would greately appreciate it:
https://market.android.com/details?id=c ... rch_result
Maybe that one solves these stupid problems.

Hello, my Samsung Galaxy S Rom is DocRom ZSJPJ v10, it is the last 2.2.1 available!
I will try to help you :)!
I will send you a private message because i don`t know if can put in here links to other foruns :S!

Best regards,
Valter

If anyone for the US version is interested, I could take up a collection to buy Navigon US, and then get the apk into the hands of the person that cracked it. Buying and refunding after grabbing the apk would work, but then if there's an update, we are kinda screwed, you can only refund once. So if anyone is interested, you can privmsg me how much your willing to toss in if we can get the people, and then take it from there =]

Same question here, if you open 2.5.3 or below you get a force close, and 2.5.4 says you haven't paid for it :S
Any way to get it to work on gingerbread or would the only way be to flash old rom, fix this and then flash back?

If you have the xml file correctly edited with your IMEI code in the navigon dir on the sd card (copy/paste xml from this thread and save as version.xml), then you can just download navigon select from the android market and it should work. You can also plug the SD in your PC and launch navigon fresh, it will download everything it needs (maps, voices, etc...).

I mean, for every day that passes the maps are getting older and older and if Navigon wants to sell this navigation solution they need to shape up and get support for new maps.

WE dont pay for it but if they want to sell the app and new maps they should get it fixed..

So....Anyone heard anything ? Is it a simple 3.5.5 update or would they have to recompile the cards for android ?

I have the Q1 2011 Europe maps runnig fine (as well as Q3 2010 before).

Download the maps and then manually replace the files in the map, poi and data directories with the files from the new maps package. Be carefull and replace the files exactly as they are in your SD/navigon directory otherwise it won't work (for example the nfs files go into data and not map as they come in some map archives).

Got it working now on gingerbread *Cyanogenmod 7 RC4*.
You can't get the version.xml on a gingerbread rom, it's force close before the xml is created.
You have to download the files from here *realy has to be this file's!* and follow all the steps on a rom that is not gingerbread. *like: "Defrost, CM6, leedroid, etc"*
After everything is done, you can reflash a gingerbread rom and just install the 3.5.0 and upload to 3.5.4 from market.

For those that like me also had problems with the product ID etc, make sure you use all the file's from here, and nothing else :)

Thanks and goodluck guys! :D

for all: there doesn't exist some way how to install it directly to GingerBread at all. So Nexus S has problem.
for all other reasons: you have to downgrade to Froyo, instal Navigon 2.6.1 run it (it generates your xml)

there is not possible share version.xml because it is generating your product ID calculated from your phone type and imei.

I added a SW request to the database (I set all my credits) to solve it, you could add a reward too in my document

Where would one go about getting these maps...

My phone was installed and updated using the navigon program and it automatically downloaded the 2010Q1 maps...

Yes, it's in both, the small EU 24 and the big EU 40.
