How is everyone else obtaining the very large data file?
I have tried via WLAN several times and for each it only downloads around 14% then stops downloading and throws up an error.
If that's not bad enough that 14% has worked out at around 450MB of data and doing this several times is not much fun.
There is an option to download the data via USB which also lets you select which countries you want to download. If anyone has done it this way could you post how you did it. I tried but it kept asking for the Navigon device to be attached to the PC whilst downloading.

App crashed on HTC Sensation without internet. With internet it seems to work (begins to download 2GB of files).

Concerning the wi fi problem, has anybody tried the old v2.6.1 method of using your phone's IMEI in the imei and id fields and then installing and running navigon select? It worked when going from 2.6.1 to 3.5 but I'm scared to try it on 3.6.1. Any feedback from anybody please?

But what happens if you are in the middle of the woods and have no data and need to navigate back home?

I assume 3.6.1 in not changed concerning the inet over WIFI or Mobile connection compared to 3.6.0.
Both versions need a short connection until the first menu appears. The connection is used to get into contact with google market. If this first time connection is impossible the app will crash!
(If you are starting with inet ones, and than disable inet, and than navigon stays on top or in the background it will not crash)
For users with rooted phones this would probably help:
