Hi DKbluefish,

IT WORKS!!!

Unfortunately the apk SwitchMarket doesn't allow to switch On/Off correctly
but once Market switched Off, a Reboot enables the Market again.

A full working SwitchMarket.apk would be appreciated.

THANKS

Theo

EDIT: switching doesn't work correctly under Android version 2.3.3
Android version 2.2 works correctly

So DKbluefish led me to try the switchmarket apk and although it worked and switched off the market there were issues like the fact that I couldn't activate the market again even with phone restart. The app showed the market as always activated even though it wasn't and also it would not close. In the end I restored Google Market app with Titanium Backup.

So then I decided to freeze the market using Titanium Backup and guess what: no more force closes... at least so far. Will have to keep testing it. I've tested it with internet and in airplane mode after phone restart and both times it worked. Seems like this is the solution if you have no internet. Running rooted lg optimus t with stock froyo 2.2

Hi,
thx for the feedback. I have android 2.2 on phone and 2.3.3 only on virtual device. Nevertheless I will try to find out why market switch on does not work with 2.3.3

Hi again,
I checked switch_market app with android 2.3.3 (only AVD) and I think it should work.
One question is, how did you detect if market on/off works.
If you used the app launcher, than I know different app launcher work different. HTC sense updates automatically. Others as e.g. the android standard launcher need to be restartet (not the phone but the launcher).
This is in line with your observation, that after phone reboot market is enabled again. This can only happen if switch_market has enabled before.

Hi DKbluefish,

I'm using HTC Sense (on both phones, 2.2 & 2.3.3). When Market is ON and run SwitchMarket, the Sign in the App doesn't change
to "Market OFF" (for 2.3.3). Anyhow going back to Sense and hit Market doesn't do anything and I can start Navigon correctly.

Hi DKbluefish,

many thanks again for pointing in the right direction.

For those having problems with "SwitchMarket" use "Titanium Backup PRO" to freeze/unfreeze
the "Market".
Navigon works perfect then.

THANKS

Do you need to freeze/unfreeze any time you use navigon or just the one time?

anytime, but just to start Navigon. Once running you can switch Market on again.

Does anyone have a solution to the following problem: when both USA and EU maps are installed, each start of a different program (USA then EU, then USA again) Navigon asks to download files. Any solutions?

Yes install one type first. Rename Navigon folder on sd card. Install the other. Whichever Navigon version you want to run make sure the corresponding folder is called Navigon on the sd card and the one you don't want to run its name is not Navigon.

DKbluefish wrote:I assume 3.6.1 in not changed concerning the inet over WIFI or Mobile connection compared to 3.6.0.
Both versions need a short connection until the first menu appears. The connection is used to get into contact with google market. If this first time connection is impossible the app will crash!
(If you are starting with inet ones, and than disable inet, and than navigon stays on top or in the background it will not crash)
