CRPnDeth,
Ya Nut, you have put the NA2008NT on your SD card and if it's working than you're "Good to Go". NT means the files are compressed, your c330 can use these NT files. The Non-NT is for older Garmins. The 1.1Gig image is all you need, it's all there, you have not left anything behind. You may notice that when you go to Utilities (the little stoopid wrech icon) /map/map info, you have 2 maps loaded up, and, for some stupider reason, the 330 doesn't display which city navigator north america nt (V8 or 2008) is selected. Apparently in their zeal for trying to make their units hack proof, Garmin neglected to include a "Wrap text" feature on their display screens. Only one map works at a time, V8 or NT, so it seems if you can see yer house with one selected, and can't with the other, I'd suggest you unselect the map that doesn't show your house since the 330 will only use one map or the other. No sense in making the thing have to think too hard. If you pull out your SD card you'll notice the 330 reverts to the internal map. Should you ever get a chance to travel overseas, you'll need to load the appropriate maps on a seperate new SD card because anytime you write new maps to your existing SD, it overwrites the existing maps making them no more. Also, you can't have multiple maps on 1 SD card.
Congrats on making your 330 work you Pirate.
Peace.

Thanks for the breakdown....There's tons of info about the KG, but not so much on the actual map updates, and Garmin's support is ridiculous (P.S. doesn't TomTom let you update maps for free?** not to start a flamewar, but man I'd think that would be a huge advantage for them). I did figure out which map was which in the settings section...can't remember how, but I think there was a slight wording difference between v7 and 2008.
Thanks again!!
** I got clarification from this from a co-worker who's a die-hard TomTom user...I was thinking of the community map updates they offer for free (MapShare I think it's called), but the main map updates you have to pay for, just like Garmin...unless of course you can work the KG

I can't unlock the Garmin map of Iran.
Here is the link of the map: http://forum.ppcwarez.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=37501
Please help.
The Unit ID of my device is: 11682954
I tired key generator 1.3 and without no success, the Garmin says that there is no detailed map.
Please help to be able to use the map of Iran. I am going to drive from one end of Iran to the other.
Thank you

Incredible...140 pages? Even more incredible is the content that spawned this thread. Amazing job lifehacker, JetMouse, and everyone else involved in putting this together. The mind boggles at what you guys are capable of.
Have you worked out an alogrithm that'll determine who wins the primaries yet?
boiler, I don't know much about other GPS brands, but Garmin doesn't exactly have the most intuitive interface, does it? I'm relatively new to the world of GPS, though I've been pretty involved in PC, Palm, and PPC stuff for quite a while. As a result, I had the same questions as you (and many others who've posted in this thread as well, though I've only read about 50 pages or so). So I'll start at the beginning and hopefully answer your questions as well as those of others who've posted here along the way. Lots of this has been covered, but I understand if someone doesn't want to sift through 140+pages just to find the answer to a specific problem, so here's a walkthrough of what I did (sorry for the length). This assumes that you already have MapSource installed and have established a conduit to your GPS unit.
First, you must ensure that you're using the correct map product. For example, I have a Garmin 60CSx, and when I visited the Garmin page dedicated to that specific product and clicked on the "Maps" tab, it listed the maps available for that unit. Not all were listed...as I mentioned, I'm new to the world of GPS, so it may just be that non-listed maps are simply discontinued/no longer available, but I interpreted it as meaning that maps not listed would not work on my unit. So, since I want US/Canada road and city maps for my motorcycle excursions, and I saw that the "MapSource City Navigator North America NT" was the only one listed that suited my needs, I took that to mean that City Navigator NA NT was the only map compatible with my unit. Fine, no sweat, I just located that specific product instead of "Metro Guide" or a non-NT version. Use either WinRar or an iso manipulation utility, such as UltraIso, if you don't want to burn the image to a disc, and extract the contents to the hard drive. I made a "City Navigator North America NT" directory and extracted to that.
Next, on installing, (at least on the iso of City Navigator NT) do not use Setup.exe. Use "CNNANT2008Update_ENU.msi" (for the English language version) which is located in the "Windows/MSI" subdirectory of wherever you extracted the iso image. This bypasses the product key request, though you'll still need your unit id and corresponding map unlock code from the keygen. MapSource will recognize the new map(s) after installation, and upon running MapSource you'll find the new map(s) available for selection in the drop-down list on the upper left hand side of the program window. Next, select map tool by either clicking on its button on the toolbar (looks like an irregular polygon) or going to tools->map. At this point, mousing over states/countries/territories will highlight them. Click on whichever ones you want to install on your GPS unit. They will become shaded and the name of that state/country/territory (along with its file size) will be added to the "Maps" list on the left. When you've selected all the regions you want added to your GPS unit, upload them to your unit by either clicking on the "Send To Device" button on the toolbar or going to Transfer->Send To Device. Assuming that connection has already been established with your GPS device, MapSource will then build the map for you and upload it.
And you're done! (Whew!)

Excellent HOW-TO…
I burned the iso file to DVD and tried to install the MSI (\\Windows\MSI\CNNANT2008Update_ENU.msi ) but it fails at about 75%, getting Error reading from file c:\Garmin\CNNANT2008\00175517.img. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it. Please help.
