But that's a Garmin GPS unit, not a PPC. So the correct procedure is the following:
- Get the MapID and input in the MapSource program on the PC
- Transfer map to device
- Voila it works

-> You DON'T need to save the SW.UNL or other stuff. Simply do it on the PC THEN xfer

Can anybody tell me how to find the MAP ID? I just know the map name , but I see lot's of people use MAP ID:(

If your map is not included in the product list, we can still generate an unlock key for you if you give us the Map ID. To find out your Map ID, do the following:
1. Go to either [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Garmin\Mapsource\Families\<YOUR MAP>] or [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Garmin\Mapsource\Product\<YOUR MAP>] with a registry editor
2. Check the "ID" REG_BINARY. That is your MapID (in HEX). You have to convert it from HEX to decimal (do not forget to reverse the byte order when coverting)
3. List your decimal Map ID & Unit ID (see earlier instructions on how to get it) in this topic.
Format your request like this:

Code: Select allUnit ID: *enter Unit ID here*
Map ID: *enter the decimal Map ID (not the hex)*

4. You will receive your unlock code. Open Notepad and paste the key and save the file as GMAPSUPP.UNL
5. Put your newly created file to your SD Card\Garmin directory and restart GMXT.
