After a little research/testing, I've found a setup of RouteOption.ini which results in acceptable routing.
Highway/road classes are defined so:-
- Class1 is Trunk roads (Freeways, national, provincial and inter-regional roads)
Class2 is Primary distributors (Urban freeways, urban expressways and major arterials)
Class3 is District Distributors (Minor arterials and major collector roads)
Class4 is Local Distributors (Minor collectors and collector streets)
Class5 is Residential Access Roads (Lightly trafficked roads and local streets)
Class6 is Other(?)
Translate this into the RouteOption.ini >>[Speed] setup:-
- [Speed]
Item0=0,1.20,1.10,1.00,1.00,1.00,1.00
I think this means:-
- Go 1.20 times speed limit for Class1; go 1.10 times speed limit for Class2, etc.
The routings I complained about in post #452 are now calculated correctly; no more routing through the USA when Faster is selected.
This is just one theory and could be all wet - suggestions for improvement are appreciated.
