I have got two problems with Google Maps .... firstly it keeps a negligible cache. Has anyone found a way to increase its size? Secondly, I get a message every 15/30 seconds, when in a car, that the software needs internet and hives a Retry/Exit message ... any ideas please?

an offline map download would be very cool. you download the maps and then you can use google maps offline without having to purchase a data plan from your mobile carrier. somehow google managed to restrict the cache to online use only which kind'of sucks. such a nice application should not be online only.
