Release Tester's Review

Comment: A jigsaw puzzle is a tiling puzzle that requires the assembly of numerous small, often oddly shaped, interlocking and tessellating pieces. Each piece has a small part of a picture on it. When complete, a jigsaw puzzle produces a complete picture. John Spilsbury, a London mapmaker and engraver, is credited with commercializing jigsaw puzzles around 1760.
LenaGames PocketJig as a very good port of this classic puzzle game for PocketPC devices contains almost all the necessary commands and options needed for a practical digital jigsaw puzzle. Seven free puzzles are provided but there are more than 200 extra jigsaw puzzles on the developer’s website for registered users. You can set the number of pieces from 12 to 247 but as could be expected the size of pieces is drastically reduced when higher number of pieces are chosen, hence identifying a proper piece is not practically possible especially on smaller screens.
While selecting a jigsaw puzzle, you can adjust the number and the shape of pieces, toggling the piece rotation and the border of the puzzle. There are some extra options such as tap mode which lets you move pieces without tap’n’drag, arrange pieces, changing the background color, etc. An interesting feature included in this game is that two different windows are provided. In other words, you can for example move edges to one window and start interlocking them in a clean area.
The screen is rotated automatically to the landscape mode as soon as the game is started and an option lets you flip the screen so it could be played by left-handed users too. One of the most valuable options that is provided is the save function. The saved game will be restored the next time you restart the game. Both the hardware buttons and stylus are supported too and it enhances the gameplay significantly.
It requires 675KB of storage memory and runs smoothly from the storage card.
