SudokuPPC v1.0 (Freeware)
Requirements: PocketPC 2003(SE), WM5, WM6
Overview: SudokuPPC is a program which does not provide Sudoku games : you only find one example to solve.
Image

Its main objective is to provide a utility to help you solve games that :
- you can find in newspapers
- you can load if you find compatible .SDK files.

It is very easy to use and very well done : for instance, you can introduce several numbers in the same cell as long as you are not sure.

Features:

* largest grid possible on PPC screen
* simple interface
* VGA compatible (see screenshots below)
* 9 pencil marks per cell (unique in a PPC application?)
* unlimited (except by memory) undo and redo
* navigation around grid by tap or d-pad
* saves/restores state on close or minimise
* detection of game completion
* detection of invalid cells and optional warning
* loads and saves SadMan Software Sudoku files (*.sdk)

To use

* Select a mode from the toolbar: yellow "1" to enter clues, white "1" to enter answers, "123456" to enter pencil marks
* Highlight a square (tap on the grid)
* Enter an answer using buttons 1-9 above menu bar.

Two notes:

Homepage Sadman is here: http://www.sadmansoftware.com/sudoku/

Download the appropriate .CAB file for your device (likely to be ARMv4 or ARM). Copy it to your device (e.g. by using Windows File Explorer whilst docked, or copying to a storage card using a card reader). On the device, open File Explorer and double-tap the .CAB file. A program icon will be created in Start -> Programs - > Games.

All reports indicate this is not compatible with Windows Mobile 5
(Note from the developer)

So, do NOT load the CAB file from the developer's site. It doesn't work for WM5 and WM6+ devices. Instead, use the CAB from G & a in my post. That works...

(And why am I not surprised... :wink: )

Haha! I like that one! Trying to make some friends before the year is over, Zach? :wink:

Anyway, nice release, thanks! Rewarded 5 WRZ$ for freeware. Category: Trivia/puzzle.

You can update your releases score now! :)

Best wishes for 2010, Zach!
