didya ever get a firmware update?
when i had the old firmware that came with my mda i couldnt connect to networks that was g only, but i could connect to those that were backwards compatible with b.
with the newer firmware, you can use the g networks but still at b speeds
happened to me at the coffee house and found that out later--it'll find the network but will take forever to connect and even if it does you can't use it
